Evidently you are not talking about the same former coach that I know because he does teach ball movement, as a matter of fact he is still teaching most of the pitchers in that conference. I have watched alot of games in the NW4A this year and of the pitchers that he is teaching they have great ball movement and the speed is coming on too. I have witnessed 3 pitchers greatly improve over last year. I have also been at some of his lessons and he is all about helping the girls to get more out of what the have and push themselves to higher limits. Just my thoughts.

I'd been thinking about something along those lines just the other day. 1.75 sounds like a starting place to work up from.

I dont have a dog in that fight (the past) I was just giving my opinion, and by the way I'm not trying to bash anyone. Why do you think some of the games in your conf were closer this year than in years past when he was coaching? I can tell you why, because he is teaching the pitchers that are in your conf, not just his own team pitcher.

I agree, a pitcher needs speed but she also better have movement, because against good batters they will hit speed only. By the way cat throws around 62-64 and has many strike outs with her drop, I don't think I hardly ever see a top pitcher in college throw many fast balls, I guess they are out there but abott, finch, osterman, mowatt, and many more live on breaking pitches. I do beleive a good pitcher needs to be able to throw all her pitches over 60, it gives more movement, but just throwing fastballs is not in my opinion going to get the results you want, in college anyway. If I'm wrong then club k needs to rethink their thought process. jmho

Anyone that says that speed is not the most important part of a pitchers game is a person that has a daughter that cannot bring it, and gets by in TB and HS with off speed pitches.....

Again I agree with the speed part but you better throw some breaking pitches beacause I don't know many pitchers that have a fastball as their go to pitch to strike out a batter.
