Daniels and North Garner

    Daniels and North Garner tied for the Wake County Middle School Central conference championship. Both teams were 13 - 1 this season. Their only loses were against each other on the road in hard fought 7 inning battles (5 - 4 NG and 5 - 3 Daniels).

    This is Daniels first softball championship. North Garner has had too many to count. :)

    Lots of talent on both of these teams, as well as others in the conference, that will be playing soon at Garner, Broughton, Sanderson, and Panther Creek to name a few.

    Congratulations ladies! Looking forward to seeing great things from you at the next level!

    what other middle schools in Wake Co. have softball teams? I had heard that midd sch sports is limited in Wake.

    We have 8 teams in our conference. There has only been one time (three or four years ago) where one of the teams in the conference did not have a team.

    Here are the middle school teams I know for sure in Wake County. Others feel free to add to this list...

    Carnage
    Carroll
    Daniels
    Dillard Drive
    East Garner
    East Millbrook
    Ligon
    Martin
    North Garner

    We have 9 teams in our conference. And in my opinion, one of the strongest. Apex, Salem and Lufkin feed into Apex High and Fuquay and West Lake into Fuquay High. I expect those High schools to be very strong next year.

    Unfortunately, there are no conference tournaments at the middle school level that I know of. I think it has to do with the season pushing right up against EOG (End Of Grade) preparation and testing.

    We wish there were. I would love to have another few games with our girls every year...
