    Consession stands?

My DDs HS teams are lucky to have a field to play on. They don't have a field at their school so they use local park and rec fields most of which are slow pitch softball fields where the fences are 260+ (one didn't have a fence at all) and the city will not put up 200 foot temp fences for the games. Needless to say, no concession stands, or parking, or bleachers (some have bleachers)...

I do make sure I bring a large bag of sunflower seeds to the games. On the middle school team I help coach, we reserve 30 minutes of practice early in the season (before games start) to teach the girls how to properly eat and spit sunflower seeds. It has become a tradition and they love it. We even held a short class to teach the parents!

    I agree!

Parents, boyfriends, cellphones and friends are a major distraction during games for these girls.
Teams with top notch talent are to be applauded for their hardwork and ability, but "A" level teams should not be playing in "B" tournaments to trophy hunt.
Coaches should temper the scoring thing once its apparant that the opposing team cannot hang with your squad. Play your backups and allow your 3rd/4th pitcher to get some work instead of trying to maul teams into submission!

even worse, i saw a girl in right field at a TB game reach in her back pocket (the team was wearing pants) and take out her phone to check the time!!!! this is rediculous!! if i ever got caught doing this by my coach or parents my butt would be on the bench or possibly out of the game entirely!

    Everyone tinkering with the kid

...makes me crazy. And is making the kid crazy. Which is making me more crazy.

Kid goes from hitting just shy of .400 at 14 in 16u TB, .583 in 8th grade...and coach tinkers with stance so kid is basically squatting when they bat, and swinging under EVERYTHING because they have total loss of control. Batting average spirals downwards into the low .200's.

Get fed up, get the kid batting standing up straight again. Boom, average .700+ last 3 games. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Coach today puts kid back into squat, has kid open up shoulders, then wonders why kid is frustrated and confused. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    Things that irk you...

Umpire called an illegal pitch against opposing team Monday. Head coach comes out and says "You can't call her for that. This is senior night and she's been pitching that way all year". You guessed it. Not another illegal pitch for the rest of the night. Pitcher looked like a ballet dancer leaping, pivot foot a foot off the ground. BTW, we beat them anyway and ruined senior night.:kissass:

^^^ HAHA......Goes with the latest thing that "irks" me......This "sense of entitlement" .....I'm a senior I should get to do this or that..... NOT WORK just walk around like something is owed you, and expect to come back in a year, and continue just like you left it last May. (Like a friendly "senior night" crow hop) ...I don't get it, but its out there. Some are in for a rude awakening in the ultimate game......The game of LIFE.

    I'm Irked

    1. Why drive all the way to FTF to play a tie breaker for a playoff spot when NC and Bunker Hill are only 10 miles apart? Neutral location pleeease!!! With the price of gas someone could have flipped a coin!!!!!!!

    agree

If it needed to be a neutral site, how about Bandys? Mike has done a great job on there field and it inbetween both NC and BH. Now we both drive over 20+ minutes and pay them to let us play. NC parents were not happy as we were told yesterday instead of sooner. PLus, we can't take a bus and all players must find their own transportation to the game. I agree NC's field is horrible. BH has a decent field, just play after school and not at night. Bandys and Maiden also have nice fields. Neutral field is fine, but make it a 2A representative not 3A. Where does the gate fee go? I'm sure part goes to pay for lights and umps, but neither BH or NC charges admission to get in. How's that right?
