If Kevin Brandt isn't the top candidate for POY then Josh Hamilton must still be in the running.

    He's batting .547 (47 for 86) with 7 HRs, 2 Triples, 16 Doubles and 37 RBIs in 25 games.

He has a 1.21 ERA with 90 Ks in 52 innings.

Are there any players in the state who have these kind of offensive and definsive numbers?

    Missed the Memo

Haha - Must have missed the memo!

All I saw was his name and the words "enough said" ! (Well for those of us not from his town or conference, maybe a few more words would be useful ! ) :39:

There is probably a thread I missed on him...

He's from Fuquay Varina in the Tri-8 Conference (where Josh Hamilton played).

I really feel for this young man. From reading his interview, he appears to be an outstanding individual. But I know he is embarrassed about all the attention and it was not brought on by himself.

I have been told by a reliable source that he appreciates the nice things people have said about him, but his family would prefer that his name does not become a lightening rod and that people's attention becomes focused on his team and teammates.

    Cody Geyer

    I have 3 favorites.

    Andrew Blackwell - Brevard High
    Hitting
    .408
    10 HR's
    37 RBI

Not sure about his pitching stats but I think they are pretty good.

Cody Geyer - North Buncombe High
    Hitting
    .552
    11 HR's
    38 RBI

Very good stats for Mr. Geyer in MAC conference. I have never seen him play but just look at his stats.

I have seen Ryan Arrowood hit and pitch both high school and Legion and he is awesome at both.

I nominated this kid Cody Geyer for player of the year just from his stats in the Asheville paper. Now I see he is on the Impact 15 and under team. Is that right? This kid is 15 years old and has those kind of numbers? I will make my way over to Asheville next year to see him play. WOW!!!

3A Mid State - Pratt Maynard

South Granville 3B/Pitcher. Headed to NC State. 2008 Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and 4th year All Conference. Only 1 of 3 players at SG to be All Conference all 4 years, Matt Harrison and Chris Luck are the other two. Had 126K this year 7 HR. I believe this makes 404K and 25 HR for his high school career.
