Nike Sparq Test...true indicator?

SPARQ testing

Nike SPARQ testing is a combine. Football players have been doing combines for years, and Nike is looking at involving other sports into this atheltic testing scale. I had 4 of my players compete in it and 2 did very well. It is a good indicator or 'athleticism' and what a player may need to work on.

 

Why?

Why would we(WF) be glad to know that,already knew it.Glad there coach was able to set that up for them(the players).

.....Nike sparq test??!!!!! Get a grip. Marketers love when you buy into what they're selling. "Oh my goddness, ND is all this or that and next week it will be the same story line of a team in New Jersey. ND IS an awesome school and deserves proprs for their softball teams success. I'm cool with that, actually I wish that my DDs HS team had half the talent that ND has, but....the sparq test???? I'm going out tonight to buy a pair of Nikes!

I agree marlin...ND does have some awesome athletes but I was a bit skeptical of the #1 stuff. For one thing, I can't seem to find out how many teams were tested in NC...much less Nationally. The Nike site itself was no help....site could have been done by a 2 year old....no real useful info there.
I was being a little tounge n cheek when I suggested that maybe Nike should have come up with a method of testing the coach before they announce #1....well maybe just a little

.....is hillarious! And it makes more sense than "test" of players! Wow, what a joke, I can see it now, some Chemistry teacher/coach running on to the field in a pair of shoes that have N on the side. No swoosh, but an "N". New Balance version for wide width fat footed people. Hey losers!!!!, N does not mean Nike! I could have a ball with this thread but in the interest of ND, and the kids, BTW, we all know they can play, I'll just say.....hell, I'm wearing Nikes! Looks like the Marketing strategy is working.......hmmmmm, I wonder if they can get my golf ball to tweak its way into the cup?

The rating is based on: 20 Yard Dash, Agility Shuttle, Rotational Powerball Throw, and Vertical Jump. They only take the SPARQ rating of your top 5 players to decide if your team is the most athletic in the nation.

Without all teams in the nation being tested, I don't think it gives anyone bragging rights. In my opinion, the rating should be used as an indicator to individual athletes on what they need to improve on to become a better athlete and compete at the top of thier game.

 

They just had another test in Greensboro a few weeks ago for individuals Anyone could go Ms Mahon finished 3rd in the Nation And now gets a trip to Oregon As for the testing at North Davidson in the Fall it was a test of the Atheltic Ability of the girls Not Softball Ability They are having these this Summer at some of the major showcase events If you would like your Softball team tested This Fall you can go to the website and request a test
