cant believe i never saw this interview until now.. Yes Sherrill is a great guy and 1 of the best coaches ANY sport has ever seen. I loved reading that interview. Hopefully the journey today in playoffs begins on the way to another state championship! If you have never met this man.. Do your very best to come up to taylorsville sometime and run into him. He's a great guy.

As far as softball goes, most “run of the mill” fans, coaches and players feel like coaches who are actually “passionate” about the game are going overboard or out of control.

    never a truer word spoken!

    Wow!

I have never been one to read any of the mile long posts on the board but I found myself reading the entire interview and wanting more when I finished.

Don't know the man but would love to meet him and watch his team play!

Oh and RobAC, thanks for bringing the post back to life. Being new to the board, I only look a the first couple of pages so wouldn't have seen it. Wonder if there are others...

I have known him for a long time. And to tell you how good his memory is I was on the Independence High School team 1990 we won the state that year against him. I had taken my daughter to one of his camps and he looked at me and remembered that I played against him that year. That has more meaning than anything anyone can ever know. Once you meet him you will see the care he has for everyone.

    well

sad to say it but AC lost tonight 3-0 to mcdowell.. just one of them nights nothing went wrong.. i cant stand it but i heard people badmouthing sherrill the entire night. funny to me how people forget that all those banners in the outfield are there because of one man's leadership and dedication to young ladies.. sad for it to end but this thread is about a great man and im sure once again next year he'll have the cougars ready for another run.. and i found this on AC's website i wouldnt have ever seen it either!

The good thing about Monte is he has thick skin and that stuff never bothers him.
