2nd Round State Playoff Scores

it wasnt lomascolo who pitched against sw guilford it was a different lefty a tall lanky kid who wore number 12. then they brought in a righty that wore number 8 for the final few innings

 

I don't really know what Watauga13 is talking about. From the moment I got there we were treated with nothing but respect. East Forsyth treated us better than alot of schools we go too. There coaches were great people, their announcer and the press box staff were extremly accomidating. The announcer certainly had his own style that I had never seen before which is ok.

The only yelling that I heard that wasen't postive was directed at the umpiring. And most of that at the field ump who needs to read a rule book and understand appeals. Other than that fun night. Hopefully we can do it again Friday.​

 

I strongly suspect that Watchudoin13 is not from Watauga . When is the last time you met someone from that area that couldn't spell Watauga. Why I've heard stories that some people have been shot for that

 

At east, they are going to really miss Travis Starbuck the most. All the team likes him, he plays well, and he's a true leader. Great 2nd baseman this year for the eagles, and great teammate. Everyone talks about ryan dull and robbie swab, but eagles1313 always forgets trigga trav. Great player! underrated, and often, overlooked. I won't forget him though. Good luck next year wherever you go, and i'm glad i can say i played the game with such a great person, player, and teammate.

 

Scotty Williams (soph) went 5 innings and they brought in righty (not Braun) to finish. East will see Lamoscola on Friday probably. He's good and rested.

 

Your assessment of his abilities, or lack thereof, are very accurate. I understand that the little meeting the umps had prior to the 7th inning had to do with FV's DH, who was run for after a base hit, was to be the forth batter in the inning and they weren't going to let him hit again and the FV coach said that if they didn't let him hit again, the game would have been played under protest.

So the called third strike eliminated that problem.

It's just a shame that an adult can pull some devious act and ruin what young men have worked so hard to accomplish.

They are saying on the Radio that Sharpe gets the save??? Your a hard cold book keeper. Only kidding! You do a great job but should we be posting these during the playoffs? Hold them until we win.

 

Haha, yeah I don't know where Mike got a save from. You cannot put yourself into a save situation. You have to be handed one. A 6 run lead and less than 3 innings to play is not a save situation, sorry.

I have always debated weather to post box scores and stuff in the playoffs but lets face it, it will be in today's paper anyway. I figure posting our season stats should not happen but one game box score should be fine.​

 

Thanks for the info on the meeting with the umps. Nobody I talked to had a clue what they could be holding up the game for. Seems to me that with reentry, the DH could have batted again. What's the issue?
