    SC & Weddington

SC is in a really good spot right now. Messer on a weeks rest, pitching at home in front of what will be a huge crowd. I would bet the farm on this one

My quote was, of the games I have attended, I haven't seen them lose. With 8 losses, of course they have lost.

We all know SC is going to win, from what i have heard they are unbeatable, #1 in the state, #5 in nation I dont think they have give up a run this year. So why should Wedd even make the trip. Well Weddington will be there Friday and will not back down. SC should win but that team is not the team you wont to have to play. They know there not supposed to win and dont care, what do they have to lose.

Thats impressive they haven't given up a run yet lost to Watauga? South Caldwell is very good, yet they are also beatable. They have won a couple of close ones that could have gone either way this year. For instance AC Reynolds took a perfect game into the 7th. That could have gone either way. Watauga ended the conference championship with the bases loaded and their number 2 batter up but lost 4-1, that could have gone either way. Alexander Central took them to the 8th inning and lost 8 to 7, that could have gone either way. So yes they are very good but yes they are very beatable. Then we all remember the loss to Watauga 1-0 at South with Messer on the mound. Don't be intimidated it is very hard and very rare, but they can be beat. South Caldwell, with that being said, you guys deserve all the credit in the world. You have had a tremendous season and I salute coach Parham. You have done an excellent job. You lost a bunch of players last year and were still able to lose less games then you did last year. My hat is off to you. But I felt like I needed to say this because most teams are beat before they even step on the field, and if you want to beat South that is not the mentality you need. The reason Watauga has played them close twice (won 1-0, lost 4-1) was because they were not intimidated. They felt like they could win and they played like it. To prove that point, a sophomore hit the game winner for Watauga the first game. That takes a lot of heart. As for me, I'll be at North Davidson rooting for Watauga. Watauga you guys had a great game vs East Forsyth. That was a good team, but you guys hit the ball like you should. That shot by Trey Lowder was one of the farthest homeruns Ive seen this season. Keep swinging and you will be hard to beat. Ill be rooting for you at ND.

Believe me, Weddington will not be intimidated. They have played a bunch of "Big Games". They may get beat, but they won't play scared. They are extremely talented and they have the super stud in Tyler Pilkington. Watkins is as good as any SC has seen this year.

This game reminds me of the SC vs Butler game last year. It will be big..it will be loud...and it will be exciting

    One night

They dont have to beat them two out of three. They dont have to be a better team. All they have to do is be better for 2 hours on one night. Its one and done folks. Did anyone think that SE Guilford would lose in the first round? South Johnston is a #4 seed and they are in the 3rd round. Weddington is a very good baseball team with some outstanding players. SC probaly is the better team but Weddington only has to be better One Night.

Is it possible? Of course it is. Is it probable? No. Can it happen? Of course. Will it? We will see Friday night.

I'll go on record saying that you don't have to prove to anyone that you guys were the real deal...your record speaks for itself!

Congrats on a great year and the Metro 4A Championship...and good luck next season

I will say this. If any team including us (SC) thinks they can't be beat especially at this stage of the playoffs they are badly mistaken. They are no weak teams playing right now and though some are better than others any of these teams cna be better on a given night. I haven't seen Weddington but I can promise you they have to be good to still be playing. As I said we are in a great spot right now with Messer at home. He has only given up 1 run all year and only lost 1 time in 2 years. Just so happens the only run he gave up was the only time all year we haven't scored a few runs and he took the loss. Am I scared of Weddington? You bet. I'm scared of every team right now. I hate this 1 and out stuff and the bad part is if we do make it to the 2 out 0f 3 series we could end up facing N. Davidson who I predicted at the start of the season to be the team to beat. I don't get any easier!!!
