4A West Bracket - Round 3 Fri 5/16

Minor correction... he has given up two all year... only 1 was earned but the first time Watauga won they won 1-0 and the second time they played Watauga lost 11-1 with Messer on the mound. The first one was off a Cal Hardee base hit in the first game to score Daniel Baker on second. The second one was a Trey Dunnigan solo HR in the game Watauga got pounded. The one in the first game was not earned because Daniel Baker was on base due to an error. The one in the second game was earned because it was a homerun. He is still amazing and most likely going to get a W on Friday.

 

Thanks NDAnnouncer...I know we had a good year but I know a lot of those boys really wanted to play ND especially Dull and Swab...but beggers cant be choosers and we'll just sit back and watch and get ready for legion!! It starts Sunday night in Concord for us.

 

it's always about dull and swab? i mean, what about dickerson, starbuck, garrett martin? all those guys didn't want to play ND really bad? Come on eagles1313, just because you're brother is ryan, and he's best friends with robbie doesn't mean you should just post about them. come on now, man....
with these senior posts, i've never seen anything about starbuck or banks, whats up with that?

 

Look if you just here to cause a rukous please leave....Banks wanted it too but you know he accepted his role as a a guy who was not going to get to play much but would be the emotional leader. Starbuck is still best friends with Hanover and yea I'm sure he wanted to play them too. As far as the underclassman, many of them didn't get to know Hanover because they did not play with him. Yea I'm sure they wanted to play against that North Davidson team too. But when you have two kids carry a majority of the load for an entire season I think they would have lead the rest of the team to help accomplish what they wanted to accomplish.

Overall the East Forsyth Eagles over achieved this year PERIOD! No one in their right mind would have guessed that they would have won 20 games with all the young kids that they had. I wish all those kids luck and I know they will all be successful. Scotty Banks is going to App State to do Business Administration. Travis Starbuck is going to Virginia Tech. Robby Swab is going to Young Harris to play baseball and Ryan is going to UNC-Asheville.

East's season is over and it was a great one for those Seniors and a great way for them to go out.

 

One Night

Absolutely right, all it takes is to be better on any given day. Just ask the New England Patriots. Looking forward to Friday. It will be fun to watch.

 

SC vs Weddington - Miracle Needed

I have seen both these teams play this year.

IMHO - SC is the best team around. The game I saw, SC looked like a big league team playing a college team - simply in a different league. Weddington will have to see if Cinderella can get the glass slipper to fit one more time, but I think midnight has come....

 

Weddington

This is exactly what Weddington likes. No one to give them a chance and if they do win its not because of talent but some magical cinderella event. Just like the Charlotte Observers article after the SW4A champ game which dipicted Weddington wins by MP mistakes, far from the truth. Trust me this team knows what they face Friday and are preparing today for Messer. They will go into this game the same way they went into all this year Us against Eveyone. This team has not been accepted "Media and others" in the SW4A for being the only team out of Meck co and concidered "sell outs" by thier own county Union for joining the SW4A. Being the underdog is the only thing they know.

 

Cinderella Story

Not trying to slight Weddington - nice story for them this year.
IMHO, SC will still win.

Not sure - but doesn't the state assign conferences? Can't see how playing teams within a few miles of your school makes you an outcast, especially when you were assigned to play those schools....

 

I will never understand when someone states players aren't mentioned. What is prohibiting those people from posting names? If someone feels a player deserves attention...then please post it. We welcome to hear about all the players.

 

Hey, whatever motivates you, but I have never read anybody saying that Weddington is not talented. And if you believe that a "magical cinderella event" doesn't equal a great story about a team overcoming many obstacles placed in their path...then you missed the point. It was meant as a compliment to the character of the team.

But, if you want to read something else into it and use it to fuel a chip on your shoulder...Okay.
