    Not ignorance

It is not ignorance when the coaches and school did their job. If they turned a deaf ear or blind eye, that is different and I have been around long enough to know that they would not do that and understand more importantly that they do not need to do it. Your example with the travel team is completely different from what happened here and I do not disagree with you that the adults should be held responsible as well, but they knew and that is the difference. The only way a kid could have played and been at Butler is if they did not tell the truth and turned in paperwork contrary to what their truth or reality really is. This responsibility sits with the parents and Bigcat hit the nail on the head. We still as coaches have to do our job on the field and off the field and I would say 98% of us do and go well beyond what is asked. As far as I know, this has never happened with Butler Softball (or any softball team in the SW4A) and they have two state championships further proving my point that they do not need to look the other way to slide a kid in.

i removed the name as this could equate to possible slander. we dont name names, teams, coaches or players when it comes to issues like this. i find this statement depressing as your first post and publically warn you that the next time you will be removed....you asked for others to act responsible, yet you post something like this?

Do you honestly think anyone would admit to knowing ? The old saying, it is better to ask forgiveness than permission. I know we were drilled, & signed a notorized statement about our residence. I guess Gorman is just a typical politician.

cheeze I think you guys do a great job on here keeping things in line. One thing that I respectfully disagree with though is not posting a name when someone breaks the rules. I say put their name out there so others won't get caught in their sceames. Out the rule breakers and they will quit breaking the rules. Especially when it is coaches. We have one out there now working with many young ladies who has a very questionable past and hasn't changed. His name has come up here several times telling of his descripancies but they hopefully nothing bad happens that could have been prevented if people had been informed. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work

appreciate the kind words and the understanding central-d, but we wont allow anyone to lay waste to a young girls name, be it truth or not...we believe that none of us will ever know the whole story, so its better to let it be unsaid.

the people who cheat, get their names out there fast, it doesnt need to be expressed on this forum, again, because we will never get the whole story, only one side. as far as the incident mentioned, i am told that was not how it happened and not how it occured.

the last item, we all agree with you on this, but sometimes ya have to let someone hang themselves and i understand the rope is getting shorter...its all we will say...

There's the answer...to expect a coach to take the parent's role in the responsibility of their child is unbelievably nuts. If a parent intentionally cheats the system, I'm not going to give them a pass and shift the blame on the Coach/AD.

    Give Me a Break....

Unless the illegal player is the PITCHER, who has a 0.00 ERA, or the 4 or 5 kids that I read about over and over and over for mashing the ball game in and game out.......GIVE IT A REST.

I'm not a Butler fan, but those kids, the LEGAL ones, haven't lost in a VERY long time...get off their back as they go through the playoffs.

Finding one illegal player that is a substitute/reserve is not grounds to penalize the girls who are making another bonafide run for the state championship. Throw the offending player off the team and don't penalize the girls who are actually playing the game.

And, yes, I understand the rules....and they need to apply to everyone. However, common sense must have a place, too! Disband the lynch mob!

    But....

Next time it is the pitcher, it is the .750 hitter, that coach will have the ammunition to beg for forgiveness since you let past incidents slide.

After all I thought we teach the kids that everyone on the team is important to the cause not just the pitcher and power hitters.

In my opinion it sets bad example for future high school parents and athletes.
