Well said Braves. Before the tournament, Coach Meadows proclaimed the SW4A as the best in the state. So no arguments there from our point of view. But it grated me a bit this morning to read an AK supporter grind his heel in ND's throat.

Hey: We all tipped our hat last night to Darnell & company. Best team is advancing, upset or not...& I'm rooting for AK to win the title.

 

I understand. AGYN is a SW4A supporter, not necessarily an AK supporter....much like me.

Class Act

As an AK fan and parent, last nights game was exciting to watch. I did not get to see SC play this year but watching the ND team play was great. They are a class act. Our boys really enjoyed getting to talk to them on Tuesday night. Even on the way out they were high fiving each other. Congratulations on a great season.

 

SW4A rankings

Good list and I even like including SC and ND even though they are not part of the SW4A as it would certainly make the conference stronger than it is already.

I would suggest, however, that Myers Park and Weddington should be switched given that Weddington beat MP head to head 2 out of 3 including in the championship game and iss2: away a 4 run lead in the 7th of the loss. Assuming that is the same logic you are using for the top 4---head to head. I will leave it to the rest of you to debate the top 4. just my opinion.

I'm sitting here laughing out loud at you guys.

I'm certain I know UK and I'm pretty sure I know aguyyouknow (if he is an ex-Mets farmhand and a helluva ex-Legion coach). If I'm right, you two are cut from the same cloth. Its just a manner of semantics. I think what aguyyouknow was saying is that at this point in the game, there are no REAL upsets. Everybody left can flat out play, and have proved it by getting this far. I'm sure that if ND were in AK's conference they probably would have had a few more loses, but so would the other teams, because they would have won a few too.

Anyway, I hate I missed last night's game for a few reasons.
1) I'm a baseball fan and I know it was a great game to watch.
2) I'm sorry I didn't get to see the ND seniors in their last game. Hats off to you guys. Especially to Mr. Watson, Mr. White and Mr. Redmond, even though I didn't have the opportunity to coach you guys, I enjoyed watching you grow from little snot-nosed freshmen into grown men. I look forward to keeping up with you guys from here on out. Good Luck.

I'm also disappointed, because I felt that this was the best shot ND has had at a State Title in my 15+ yrs of being a part of and being around the program. I desparately want them to get one for the coaches, players and all of us old farts that tried to help pave the way. Fantastic year to all of those involved......Keep up the good work.

 

Congrats to ND from an AK Fan

A few things I saw and experienced over the last couple of days...

- During the rain delay Tuesday night the ND players came over and talked with the AK players and they got to know each other a little bit. Classy way for both teams to act and get to know some folks from another part of the state.
- ND fans are very vocal in support of their team, but in a positive way that added some fun and humor to the game.
- Got to talking with one of the ND dads and we were trading insights about the teams. In the seventh inning when Coach Bagwell came out to talk with Darnell on the mound, the ND dad told me that if Bagwell was smart he would walk Hanover as he has killed people all year in these types of situations. That is exactly what Bagwell did two minutes later. GREAT MOVE ! Especially with a two run lead.
- Hats off to ND on a spectacular season, a great team, and a class act.

Hey...aguyyouknow & I already kissed & made up. (FYI - He seemed to enjoy it). I was just hoping that if I made enough noise, AK would offer to replay the game.
