Dean-O is an outstanding coach and I consider him a friend. He has always run a class act at Orange and has quite frankly turned out some excellent players!! He teaches the game the right way and is very low-key about talking about himself or taking credit. I wish he and his Panthers nothing but the best!!!

To me the mark of a great program is always being competitive regardless of who you lose from your program to graduation. Orange has done that every year. The mark of a great coach is players in a program always get better from year to year. And there is no doubt that the players that play for Coach Dease do this as well.

We played them twice this year and I was very impressed as usual at how well coached and fundementally sound they are. They have a tremendous team. They have speed , power , deep pitching and a very good defensive ball club. They can hit it 1-9. I would not be surprised at all if they won it all this year.

Yeah, but all of us could learn many things from his wisdom.

I was looking at this on the Orange HS website. Pretty impressive record, but from everything I have heard he is an even more impressive person.

Coach Dease has served twenty-three years as a baseball coach at Orange HS. He has been the head coach for the past 20 years. He has an overall record of 306-162. Coach Dease is a six-time conference coach of the year and 1992 Region 3 coach of the year. During his tenure at OHS, the Panthers have won 7 seven league titles and 34 players have gone on the play college or professional baseball. He has coached 7 All-State players and 1 All-American. Two players were picked in the Major League Baseball Draft.

I couldn't agree with you more!!!

I will agree with Coach27 also. We scrimmaged them this season, they were very solid top to bottom and their pitching was very good. Dean does a great job developing his players, but he has high expectations and expects committment. He prepares his squad also by playing the best non-conference schedule he can. We all can learn from him. Year in and year out his teams will compete and beat most teams in the area, 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A... it doesn't matter... Hopefully he will find time to fill us in!!

He is a little busy right now

I wouldnt bet on him coming on for a couple of weeks. I look for them to be in the state finals. Maybe after the season is over he will come on here and fill us in. The guy is a class act in every way.

Yeah, you're probably right. I was hoping that he might steal a minute this weekend to pop in and say hello and share some "pearls'

    Dease

Dease is a good egg. Always enjoy going over to Orange. Great field. Too bad the system won't respect this man enough to buy him some new lights. That field is immaculate. One more to go Dean!!!! Good Luck!
