Tonight my 2dd will play their last home hs game. (at my alma mater) Where has the last 4 years gone? It seems like it was last month they were scared little freshman trying to earn a position. Dads, enjoy the time you have with your girl(S) at this level, lighten up on the pressure, they are still kids. Teach them TEAM FIRST and your teamates are your sisters,(sometimes literally) overlook the little dissappointments. Teach them hard work and determination are the keys to sucess. And focus on the big picture, have fun and enjoy these HS years they will be the happiest and most carefree of your life. And dads remember what Trace Adkins sings.

I just hope they don't look me in the eye during the national anthem.

    Good Luck!

    Good Advise!

After the ride home from Glenn Tuesday, my wife said she felt like we had lost the game. She is not accustomed to the analyzing and breaking down of each game that my DD and I go thru religiously. After several hours of soul searching I came to the conclusion that she was right, Yes, I said it! As a dad and coach sometimes we forget to be a dad.

    Love this post,
    It really hit home.
It all hit me on Senior Night this year. Please dads, cherish every moment.
My dd will be playing ball at the next level next year, and thank goodness, she picked a school close to home. I will be able to see all the home games, and some of the away ones.
Good luck to all the girls going on to play at the next level.
See you all this summer. In some ways, it will be harder leaving the TB team than it is to leave the school team.
A lot of life-long friendships have been created.

The feelings are no where near as strong as being their parent but a lot of coaches go through this every year! You can't help but love them! You don't really realize it until something brings it to the surface but it's there!

Just a note of thanks to a great group of girls for an awesome season of softball, and a great four years.
My DD played her last game as a Ledford Panther last night. It was a very emotional loss, as well as a finish of a great chapter. My hat's off to a great coach and a great man in Coach Poindexter from Central Davidson.
My DD considers him to be a life-long friend, as well as a great mentor. She plans on coaching softball at the high school level after college, and has expectations that she will coach against him in the future. Good Luck in Raleigh coach.
As for the Lady Panthers, she will certainly miss all of the girls that she has played with, especially the girls that consider themselves the 4 MuskaTEERS. Boomer, Pop, and Murph, Nickel will never forget the past year. Good Luck in the remainder of your high school years and further.
With Brittany "Nickel" staying close to home in college, I'm sure we will see many Panther games next year.
    See you all this summer.
