3A West game 2 - East Rowan 17 South Point 2

Certainly, thats true that the ace might not have his best stuff on short rest. Thats why I said it should only be done if the guy was UNDOUBTEDLY the "ace" and by far the best pitcher on the staff. In South Caldwell's case, they had 2 amazing pitchers and a pretty darn good #3 pitcher in Poovey. They aren't a team that should fool with bringing their ace back on short rest (although Bumgarner was 0 days rest, the South Point kid would be 1 day's rest).

Also, Messer didn't go out there and give up 17 runs the day after Bumgarner pitched. This showed that South Caldwell had other pitchers who were capable. South Point's other pitching got pounded last night.

In my personal opinion, I think game 1 of the East Rowan series was a fluke and East Rowan will probably beat whoever South Point throws tonight. But from a South Point point of view, they cant believe that game 1 was a fluke. They have to look at it like perhaps Horne could go out there and shut down East Rowan again. He may not do it, but obviously he's your best chance.

And again, I'm not some East Rowan person talking smack. I'm not affiliated with either team. I'm just an observer who would like to see a close game in game 3.

East wins 3 - 2 at South Point tonight. Great game! On to the States for ER!!! Roland went the distance on the mound.

 

Great series coming up

Heard my RM buddies made the trip west and got to see a very good ER team play.
