    Baseball America's top 200 prospect list is out, and unless I missed someone, there are zero current NC high school players listed.
    Here are some of the listed college players who played high school baseball in NC;
    74) Lonnie Chisenhall
    145)Aaron King
    155) DJ Mitchell
    157) Steven Hensley

    What about Kyle Shelton?

    Shelton is hitting .337 for the #1 team in the country (UNC).
    And he can play 3rd, 2nd and outfield and even filled in at first some.
    (He went to South Meck.)

    Yes, he will probably get a chance, but being a senior diminishes his bargaining power.

    But since you brought him up I would like to make a comment about Kyle Shelton. In my opinion he is the best defensive ss in the region. Reese Haven@ USC is very good, but what makes Shelton the cream of the crop is his arm (cannon) and his feet (feet of a basketball player). The kid makes the routine plays effortlessly and makes the ESPN play every game. I could understand when Horton was there, but now?.......I don't understand. Levi Michael is the closest I've seen that reminds me of Shelton. But to put him in LF? That's like putting Emmitt Smith at DB....I'll never understand.

    I don't know how they did not list Jimmy Messer. Let you know something ain't right with the list. Also, you have May and Maynard @ S Granville that are certainly candidates.

    There are quite a few names off that list: FedEx being one off the top of my head. I'll think of others

    that brings up a good question, who will play shortstop at UNC next year? in the year between shelton leaving and levi michael coming. should be interesting to watch.

    Graepel for sure, Gore most likely

    Graepel is only a soph. so he is coming back.

    Gore is a junior, but his bat needs work to get picked high in the draft so he is more than likely coming back...

    Who knows. He will get drafted, also. But he won't be playing SS when Michael gets there

    Yeah, he'll get drafted. I meant assuming he comes to UNC. I agree with you, Levi is the shortstop of the future for the 'Heels.
