OK, let's propose a new rule for next year. Everyone on the roster must play at least 2 innings a game and bat once. And they all get a trophy at the end of the season cookout. Now, is everybody happy? Sound familier? Oh, and let's not forget to eliminate the all conference teams. That is always a huge source of disappointment.

Ryan Stetson / CF / Ardrey Kell

Speed, power, hits for AVG, and a fine young man.

So who is your starting pitcher your ace? Or do you throw your number three since he needs some game time?

Watauga will be strong. They had an 18-11 season and return 7 starters, including all conference pitcher Jon Sharpe who went 7-1 this year and can throw it up to 90 at this time. All conference outfielder Baine Martin who batted clean up and hit over .310. All conference shortstop Cal Hardee who batted second and hit around .310. All conference honorable mention outfielder Trey Lowder who batted 5th and hit around .350 with 4 Homeruns and 26 RBIs, and probably most important Adam Church, an all conference catcher and voted 3rd place for player of the year in the NW4A. He hit .450 this season with 5 Homeruns including one off of Jordan Darnell and batted over .500 in conference play! I foresee him as POY next year in the conference. I see Jon Sharpe battling with Corey Rhoney and Cody Penny for the best pitcher in the conference next year.

Yep...Coach Hardee is going to have a great summer. He will be smiling the whole time thinking about next year.

I thought that Trey Lowder was the best hitter on that team...by that I mean I thought he had the best approach and hammered any mistakes.

    Sanderson

I think Sanderson has a good chance of having another excellent year in '09. With Cap-7 Coach of the Year Todd Laughlin and a strong core of returning juniors, I believe Sanderson can make another deep run into the playoffs. Rising seniors Charles Wolfe (Cap-7 Pitcher of the Year '08) who had an 8-2 record with a 0.41 ERA heading into the Eastern Finals against JH Rose; Kyle Wigmore who has been steadily increasing his skills at the short stop position; Kyle Wood who can cover center field like a dog and can provide key hits at the plate; and Max Gagnon who could be one of the best all around catchers in eastern North Carolina.

Sanderson will contend for another Cap-7 Title and with 6 returning starters, have the experience to have another outstanding year for Coach Laughlin.

Also Bryan Burke (sophmore/RHP/C) shows alot of potential on the mound heading into his Junior season.

Don't sleep on the Spartans! This team is legit!

    PAC-6 Watch out for Riverside...

Riverside only loses 3 off this years team that lost to Leesville Rd in the 3rd round. They lose Blaze Tart (1B/P), Khalin Villines (SS) and Robert Long (RF), but the rest of that talanted line-up is back...

    They will be extremely solid!!
