    Does anyone know where one can see who made the teams for the 2008 States Games Underclassmen teams? Or, can people post if they know the names and schools of the players? I know tryouts are over, just wondering who made each team and how the rosters are looking. Also, curious as to the rosters for the East/West game.

    It is a

    :smiley_resurrect_gr:dead-horse-fast2::beatdeadhorse5:or is it?

    They need to redo the system. Player selection, play venues, and more. It was to be to showcase High School players in an area. Present them to college coaches. You decide what is wrong with system. Braves, did I do Good???

    Why

    do they need to redo the system? What is wrong with the venues? How would you select the players without making anyone mad at you? How does it not showcase hs players?

    If anyone believes for one second you are ever going to pick any team without making someone upset let me know how you are going to do it.

    If anyone has a perfect way of selecting the players please let us all know what it is.

    Players come to a tryout after being nominated by their HS coach. The coaches watch the players and select the players they think are the best. Its not perfect but what is? The only way your going to do something like this and not upset anyone is to let everyone that wants to play , play. Im not sure how many college coaches would show up but hey you can not have everything.

    My two concerns with the state games. #1 - I do not believe that players that have already verballed to college programs should participate. This event is for the players that are trying to get a look. Not for the ones that dont need a look. Thats just my opinion.

    #2 - There needs to be some sort of communication between the people selecting the teams the players that are not selected. I dont think its fair for kids to have to sit around and wait for a call. Only later finding out through the grapevine that their friend got a call and they did not. Or finding out from someone not affiliated with the event that they did not make the team. Or never hearing anything from anyone. Have a toll free number you can call on a specific date that gives out the players names that made the team.

    The state games decisions are tough on coaches. The top 15 or so are no brainers most of the time. Its those last few picks where several kids are very equal in what they bring to the table. Its not an easy job at all and I dont envy the guys making these decisions. Congrats to all the guys that make it. And to those that dont prove them wrong this summer.

    jsut looking for info

    Not sure how you get to this conclusion until you see the rosters? I may go to some games and thought a copy of the regional rosters, as well as the east-west rosters, would be nice to have in advance.
