    WP: Justin Spears (1-0)

    Spears went the distance tonight for Post 170 throwing a complete game shutout against a very solid Shelby team and only allowing 4 hits. Where is Spears attending college or plan to go ? He's a very solid pitcher from what I saw tonight and has a lot of potential.

    Spears attends Wilkes Community College.

    His pitching line last night against Shelby was as follows:
    9 innings 0 runs 6 hits 13 strikeouts 6 walks

    Legion game is postponed




    The Lexington-Davidson Post 8 American Legion baseball game against Stanly County Wednesday night at Holt-Moffitt Field has been postponed due to rain.

    Post 8 will be back in action Friday at Concord

    Wilson Post 13's home game Wednesday vs. Kerr Lake has been rained out. Wilson plays Saturday 5/31 at Clayton (Smithfield-Selma HS).

    Thank you for clearing that up. I posted what I thought he had, my fault.
    Do you know if he's being looked at or has plans to go elsewhere after Wilkes?
    How hard is he throwing? He looked mid to upper 80's but sometimes looks can be deceiving.

    WINSTON SALEM LEGION

    The Winston Salem Legion teams splits a twin bill with the Carolina Hurricanes. The Fight'n Pumpkins win game 1, 4-3 and lose the nightcap to the Hurricanes 7-1. Good games for both teams. Game was played with wooden bats.

    Winston Salem is now 3-3, 0-1 in conference. 5 of the 1st 6 games played by Winston Salem have been played with the wood. All non conference (3-2).

    Tonight Winston Salem will host Kernersville @ 7pm.
