    Here is the roster for Regoin 5. We had over 100 players tryout for the team. It was extremely tough selecting this team. We conducted 3 different tryouts. Our tryouts were also split up into different positions coming in at different times. This enabled us to evaluate players better. In addition to the tryouts we got to see a bunch of players because they were on teams we competed against throughout the high school season. We also went to games to look at players to evaluate for the state games so we could get more looks at these players. I agree there is not a perfect system for state games. I am a big fan of state games. It has given a lot of exposure to many players across the state. I am proud to be a part of this great event.​

    Again....

    system is fine! For example the Mangum kid and Gary kid "I" personally cut from the west team back in 00! What a huge mistake on my part their college careers speak for themselves!!!! I am sure I overlooked a couple three more to go on to be outstanding at the next level but three coaches three looks tryouts that s it..... I ll eat the crow for it!

    That is Dairio Little from Parkland.

    And congrats to the former Angels! I guess you too Chaz! hahaha Good luck to region 5. I would have loved for my son to make it but that looks to be a reasonable and diverse group so I can't complain.

    Region 5 formation of team should be the rule, not an exception - a little different scenario than what happened in the Greater Neuse Conference Region, oops, I mean region 3
