Rose can play with them? Shoot, Bill, those kids in Greenville are given bats as pacifiers when born. Vincent gets them when they are 3 and starts teaching them base running. By the time they're 5, he has them doing pro workouts.

Rose ballplayers are not born, they're cloned and they don't play until they are at least 6' 5"...then they turn 7 and get to tryout for Coach Vincents LL teams....then it goes on from there.

Rose is intimidating. The only reason they lost a couple games out east was to make the teams out west believe they have a chance. Here is my question. When was the last time Coach Vincent took a Rose team to the State Championship and didn't win?.......................never!!!!!

    OK guys

They are both very good teams. They had to be to make it to the finals. The fact is we have no idea who is the better team. That it why they will play 2-3 to find out. After this weekend we will know. I have not seen AK play we did play Rose. I do know several of the players on AK's team and they are outstanding players. I do know that AK played an outstanding schedule. I saw Rose first hand and they are very good. Good enough to beat AK? Heck who knows. But we will find out this weekend. Good luck to both teams I hope they both play their best baseball and it goes three games and comes down to the last ab.

Never say never. C'mon Braves...I thought you knew Charlotte baseball history a little better. It was a long time ago, but...

20 years ago he brought an undefeated (27-0) Rose squad to Charlotte to play a rag-tag squad from Harding (who was 17-10). Harding won the series two games to one. :fan_wave2:

I'll be bringing my Championship Ring out this weekend in hopes that it brings Bags and the kids from AK some luck and karma.

There ya go...ruining a good story. So, are you going up to Zebulon?

You reminded me of something. Was that in the same year as Hurrican Hugo? I've got a story about that. I was in the Virgin Islands visiting my sister when the Hurricane was bearing down. I got out early and stayed with my brother in Charleston...dang if that same storm didn't follow me. I moved to Charlotte the next month and it looked like a war zone. I hate that name HUGO.

Just one more day. All kidding aside, I agree with Coach. I really have no idea who is the stronger team and who is the favorite. I'm just looking forward to two outstanding teams battling each other. I really do wish good luck to both teams and hope they both play at their best.

Sorry to do that. My family, however, is 1-1 against him. My brother played on the 1975 Harding team that lost to Rose. I believe that was Vincent's first state title. It's been 20 years and I remember most of the details of those three games like it was yesterday. Falling behind 7-1 in game one only to rally for an extra innings win and then trailing again in game three before exploding on them.

I am doubtful for Game One in Zebulon. Just too much driving for a Friday evening and I am not sure I can get away from work early enough. Saturday I am probable. Let me know if you make it out there and maybe we can catch up for a bit.

Hugo was 1989. I was in Boone at the time and it was still hurricane strength when it rolled through up there. I spent four years up there...I walked to classes in knee high snow and single digit temperatures. But that hurricane accounted for the single day of cancelled classes while I was in school.
