ERA question

    There are 2 outs, runners on 1st and 3rd. Runner steals 2nd catcher throws down, runner on 3rd scores. Is this an earned run?

    Short answer

    Yes if the base runners reached base against the pitcher as opposed to reaching base on errors.

    If the runner scores before an out is made at second then yes it counts.
