Two very good pitchers and should be a great match-up, but Aaron King from Surry is no doubt the best draft eligible pro pitching prospect in North Carolina this year. Not too many 6'4" lefties that throw 93-94. Plus he is two years younger than both Hensley and Holt.

I'm late to the game on this discussion about Cory Harlichak...but I just want to add: Cory stayed w/ us a good bit last summer (played woodbat w/ Tyler). Great kid...& I mean GREAT kid. We talked to him yesterday & intend to be in Cary tomorrow. Cory is making summer plans that do not include leaving school this year.

After reading this thread and hearing of a couple of Surry CC guys doing well, I wanted to pass along word to you guys that you might not have heard. Mark Tucker, head coach at Surry CC, resigned a few weeks ago. He has two young daughters that he wants to spend time with before they are grown. Josh Simmons has been named Head Coach there now. Roy Vernon, asst coach for all the years with Coach Tucker also resigned to spend time with family. I had to opportunity to work with both of these guys and I must say they are two of the best guys in the business. I'm extremely proud of what all they've done at Surry, and reading these posts about Harrilchak (sp?) and King just reminded me of how good they are at what they do. Good luck to Coach Tucker, Coach Vernon, and also the guys mentioned in this thread.

Wow....two of the best guys in the business. Coach Vernon is a walking encyclopedia of baseball facts. The old cliche that he's forgotten more then I'll ever learn rings true about him....and I'm very surprised that Mark Tucker has not moved to a D1 school. Those are two quality coaches right there.

At least they were replaced by another good coach in Simmons

OK. I doubt I'm going, I was just wondering whether there'd be a way to catch any of the regional in Cary and then head to Zebulon from there
