i for one think that a "player of the year" award would be a great honor but if upsets you that much not to be mentioned than you are in the game for all the wrong reasons. play the game and have fun. andy partin does a great job with handling players that are not in his "system". sometimes its hard to cover every player in the state. NC is packed with good players...people do not realize how much talent in this area.

    Hey

Pasttime what team does your son play on? Let me know I will put in a call for his team and see if I can get them the schedule that suits you the best. When you go to a tourney do you have to run each site and the entire tourney? Or do you only have to worry about your son and his team?

Let us know what team he plays on so we can make sure we do the right thing. And give me some names of those players that are not getting any pub. I will forward it to Connie Mack and he can start posting on them for you.

    Here I Type Again....

If you recall a few months back there was a lot of discourse about MVP Baseball and certain comments made by Harry Grumet. His words were that (and I paraphrase here) parents should be advocates for their kids/players. A lot of people took exception to that specific comment (as well as other comments in the news article). My point is that if someone feels that a player is deserving of attention - then go round him up some attention! Believe it or not, we college coaches love to hear from you. It saves us a LOT of money - especially with gas prices being $4.00/gal. You think our budgets are not affected? Think again!

Don't have a son playing. And its not about which gametimes suit the parents the best, its about which times give the players the best chance to be seen based upon how many scouts will be there during the team's gametimes.

Obviously you're quite touchy on this subject, and I'm just pointing out that the Dirtbags are always assured to get the best gametimes and play at the biggest sites at the times that the scouts will be there.

Heck, I didn't even know that my point was being proven again with this week's schedule until this other guy tried to make a point and wound up proving me right.

I think it dosnt matter what time the dirtbags play, the scouts dont watch them because they play at a good time, they watch them because there good. if the dirtbags played in my back yard at midnight the scouts would be there to watch.

If the Dirtbags will have people watching them no matter what time they play, then why not stick them playing at the high schools at 8:00 in the morning rather than the college fields at prime time?

If your claim is true and people will see the Dirtbags no matter what, why don't we give some of the other teams the convenient times?

why dont we ask the scouts who they wanna see, and what time they wanna see them, im pretty sure the dirtbags would be a team they would want to see.

This is all a big circle. Why would the scouts want to see the Dirtbags? Part of that is the IMPACT hype.

Also, if the scouts were smart they wouldn't want to see The Dirtbags. Most of these guys are signed already. That's what baffles me, the scouts have no reason to even watch these guys because they are already either signed or committed.

The other side of that coin are the teams that play them. I would love to be on that other team knowing there will be a lot of scouts watching.

I hear you OPT and your point has validity, but try playing the teams from East Cobb where not only are the schedules favorable, but so are the umps. To be honest, right or wrong, if I hosted the tournament, I would do my best to help my teams (schedule-wise). I have no idea if he does it, but if it was me, I sure would and not feel a bit of guilt.

That's what I've been saying. I don't blame AP at all because like I said, all coaches will be biased towards their players. And if AP is putting on the tournaments and he coaches a team, of course he's going to set his own guys up with the best chance to be seen, due to good gametimes and playing at the best facilities. I have no problem with it just as long as people realize that it is what it is, and the Dirtbags do indeed get preferential scheduling.
