How would it take a toll?

Everyone had a week off to rest up and prepare. Rocky Mount didnt exactly beat chopped liver to get there. Wilson Fike and DH Conley are pretty darn good. Your quote "Maybe the east is just as good as the west". The west gets most of the pub on this site because most of the posters are from the west. Everyone that follows baseball not only in the west but also in the east knows that its good everywhere in this state not just in one area.

To me it has never been about West vs East. Or conference vs conference. Its about team vs team. There is outstanding baseball played all over this state. Its not just relagated to one area or one side of the state.

In 3A the west is stronger from top to bottom but the east typically has 1 or 2 teams that are the best out of anyone in the state.

    Rocky Mount wins 3a

Tougher road to get to the ship than RM did.

    Oh really?

Who would you say are the top 5

    3A teams in the west?

Now who would you say are the top 5 3A teams in the east?

You can go top ten in West and top ten in East if you would like.

I would like to know what you think and maybe that would give me an idea as to why you think typically the west is stronger than the east in 3A baseball.

I personally dont believe either side is typically stronger. I do believe that it varies from year to year.

seems like the east wins it every year in 3A. and like coach27 says it is always more about team vs team. Beauty of baseball - any given day anybody can be beat. Three game series usually assures the best team wins but that old adage still holds true.

All I know want to know (I should ask is in the Andy Partin thread) - is Ragsdale playing in next year's Impact Tourney - and if so who is the team from the East that will play them? Whoever that is is the odds on favorite to win the 3A next year. Conley, Aycock, Rocky Mount. Who's next?

One of the things I hoped for with TBR was to get over the west vs east mentality. I would like to think that posters from both areas have a healthy respect for each other. As I got to know the teams out east from the greater participation on TBR...and got to know the posters and their son's as well. I found myself rooting for the teams and players of our members vs what area the team is from.

I pulled for S Granville, RM and Fike as if they were my own teams. I cheer for Whiteville, Orange, Person and even Rose :vork: because I've gotten to know them through the board.

I hope we can get beyond the area biases because it doesn't matter. A good baseball team is a good baseball team, regardless of area. I will say this, any team that made it to the State Championship should be proud of their accomplishments....only two teams in the whole state from each class could get there.

I dont know who you will play

Wossa. But no one is going to want to play you. Maybe we can get a team from the west to play you next year? I got it , you split your team up and play an intra squad game. Then you win and lose at the same time.

We have the distinction of having played three teams this year that won state titles. We lost 6-3 to Rose in the Impact Challenge. We spit a DH with Rocky Mount. And we split with Orange this year. Too bad we could not have played Cherryville. At least we could have said we played all four state champions. Do you get a ring for that? Oh , I guess not.

    Great Post Braves

I feel fortunate to have seen many of the players from the west over the last four or five years. I have gotten out there and caught several games as well. I have never gotten caught up in the east vs west stuff or conf vs conf stuff. The bottom line is team vs team. I enjoyed watching AK and East Rowan this weekend. I enjoyed the fact that I knew so many of the players on both those teams and have seen them play in the summer and fall. I knew both of those series were going to be very good. There was very little difference in all four teams. Basically there was no difference in the quality of the play in the 3A or 4A teams. You could have put E Rowan up agains Rose and Rocky Mount up against AK and it would have been just as competitive imo.

Its not east vs west. Its not conf vs conf. Its team vs team. Our state is so good in baseball. The quality of the play this weekend was outstanding. There is a reason so many hs players from our state are on college rosters across this entire nation and especially in state right now. There are just more good players than ever before.
