I am not sure what region Greenville is in but....

4 Rose players were picked. P's Tanner Merritt, Ted Deiters, Danny Deiters and c Patrick Roy. My son pitches at Rose but was deemed too slow by the coaches in tryouts and didn't make the squad even though he finished 6-1 for Rose and got the complete game victory in the 2nd game against Ardrey Kell in the 4A state championship game. I think pitching has got to the point where it is not how good you are at pitching but how fast you can throw. I am sure he was disappointed a little but I think the state championship took his mind off the state games. I hope other kids that didn't get picked do not get discouraged. If you are good enough, coaches will find you.

That doesn't seem like a Greater Neuse River conference dominated team.....Just from those kids alone, Region 3 looks pretty stout. Kudos to Coach Joyner and Coach Worley for picking great players.

I was told that Tyler Deloach of Roanoke Rapids also made the region 3 team.

    Make sure he

doesn't get discouraged over not making the team. It does not mean he is not a very good player just like making the team does not assure anyone of anything. Its surely an honor to be picked and I am not downplaying it. But the bottom line is there will be many kids just as deserving that do not make it. Congrats to the ones that do. And dont sweat it if you don't. I know a young man that didn't make the state games his Jr year and all it did was motivate him. He was all state his sr year and is playing D-1 baseball and has been a star in college. You can never pick a team like this and not miss someone along the way. Its impossible. The only way to not miss on a guy is to not have a team at all. Good luck and congrats on the state title. I know alot of kids that would trade him right now for that ring he is going to get!
