How can you go from a conferance teams to a region coach? IMO these guys had it easy. They just had to win with the best of their regoin. What about the coach that has to do it at the HS level which is a much smaller pool. Think it should be conferance coach of the year and take in the total program. Take it all in.

    Region coaches

I don't know all of these coaches, but I do know Watauga County doesn't boast a huge talent pool of baseball players. Several of those kids play multiple sports for Watauga High School and are terrific athletes. This team had a heck of a season with only 3 dedicated coaches and a group of outstanding young men who put a ton of time and energy into the program. The kids worked their tails off (most days in the freezing cold and gusty winds) to get where they did this year under Coach Hardee's leadership and instruction. They played hard and had a lot of fun in the process. It's not easy doing what Coach Hardee does year in and year out "on the mountain". And he maintains a beautiful facility single handedly. No doubt about it, Pete Hardee deserves this recognition!

All I have to say is that the guys listed here run quality programs and are well deserving of the honor. I look at the guys I konw personally, RV, Bill White, Pat Smith and Dean Dease, Hal Bagwell, and Pete Hardee. ALL Are very deserving!! I would bet the coaches I dont know personally from the other regions are just as deserving!!

    Congratulations to ALL!!
