Tim Smith from Catawba was just drafted in the 42nd round. Nice draft for the Indians as 3 of their folks go.

Great job Coach Gantt and the players.

The people that sit there and make these decisions are sometimes so stupid your surprised they should even have a job. Were was Erik Lovett(Mt. Olive College) this year? Player of the year in D2 baseball last year and had another amazing year this year and drafted in the 39th round? Give me a freakin break...

Miakol Gonzalez of Tusculum College...Southeaast player of the year back-to-back years and gets selected in the 35th round. The kid hit .468 this year and broke the SAC and Tusculum record with 103 hits.

This is copied and pasted from www.tusculum.edu but look at his stats and tell me this is not a top 10 round pick... During his two-year career, Gonzalez established new TC record for batting average (.457), triples (21) and on-base percentage (.522). His batting average is currently ninth all-time in NCAA II history, while his triples tally is tied for 12th in the record book.

Earlier this month, he was named to the All-South Region teams by Daktronics, ABCA and NCBWA.

The two-time All-SAC First Team honoree accounted for 21 doubles, seven triples, five home runs and a team-best 58 RBI. His 30 stolen bases in 2008 were also a new school record.

It's all politics and some freakin great players get over looked and its a shame because there is great talent that will never see the field again.

Just to point out, theres a big difference in what Flack has done and what these guys have done. Flack has proven himself in the toughest D1 conference in the USA.

Give me a break, Flack is a great player by all means but was he back-to-back SOUTHEAST player of the year or D1 player of the year? These guy's in IMO have done more than he has. He is batting a .279(Flack that is) and the Gonzalez hit .468 this year. Batting .279 isn't proving much for me...

    Paul clemens

You guys all overlooked Louisburg College soph. Paul Clemens(RHP). 7th round pick of the Atlanta Braves. Clemens clocked as high as 97 but a real head case, another Nuke LaLouche. Real good kid. As mentioned earlier, congrats to big man Erik Lovett(LC '05), and Maikal Gonzalez(LC '06). Lovett can mash. Don't bet against Maikol making it, this young man is an excellent ball player and a better young man. Came to LC from Venezuela with limited English skills, and managed to make it through 4 years.

    Thanks for the list, guy.
I didn't see Tyler Trice (UNC-RHP), but I think he was also drafted.
Wonder why Fedroff (UNC) was draft-eligible as a soph ???
