Braves, NCSU was able to save Surkamp for today. Georgia is going with a kid that only has 3 starts all year but one of those starts was against GT last weekend and he threw a complete game shutout. Regardless, I like our chances since we were able to save Surkamp as he is normally our #2 starter. Dawgs bats are tough to tame though.

That's interesting. It would seem that the Wolfpack have the advantage. Surkamp (selected in the draft) can have dominating stuff. I don't know the pitcher for Ga. and I'm sure he is good, but Surkamp has proven himself all year. I'll guess we'll see, but I like the Wolfpack's chances. Of course, I might be a little bias knowing Synan and Drew Martin real well. Speaking of Drew, what's that on his face? I wouldn't be surprised to see his mother go on the field and take care of that.:REDanceBanana001:

WOW!!...long bus ride home to raleigh

who would have thought it would have turned out like this!!! I am still watching it in the bottom of the 7th and its 17-3!!

So it makes me ponder the question with metal bats......does good pitching still beat good hitting???
This one will burn for awhile!!!!
At least the ACC looks good so far with UNC and Florida State advancing and maybe Miami tonight.
:th_90edab00: made me go ahead and start early....:)

Good thing that Joey Cutler pitched well or it would have been worse. Beckham is better than I thought...why couldn't he have gone play soccer!

I warned you! That makes the Dawgs 16-0 in elimination games at Foley Field. An unbeliveable record. If Surkamp was the same P he was this past summer he never would have been demoted to #2 starter. He's thrown way too many innings in the last 12 mos.

I will say that NC St and Avent got what they deserved after pegging the dawg batter after Lewis' HR. Add that to his antics in the first game with having the ump check the P for foreign substances and you reap what you sow. Avent is just not a class act and I'm extremely glad the Dawgs pummeled them for another 7 or 8 runs the next inning. Dont mess with the Dawgs and have fun on that long ride back to Packland!

    Ga.

Yes, Dawg you warned us. Wow, those Bulldogs do hit it. I've heard Becknam's name all I care to for one weekend. His dad looked so nervous in the stands. They said the dad was a former USC QB. How did the Cocks let Gordon get away? Reese Havens?

The Pack...........another year removed from the CWS.
I feel for Surkamp, 17 pitches, no outs, gone. USA Nat. team last summer and did great there. He was the logical choice to start today, but............where was State's great pitching staff this weekend?

What was that team that UNC played? CC looked quite undisciplined. Errors galore, players ejected. Question: when you have 2 pitchers ejected for loud-mouthing the ump from the dugout over the calling of ball and strikes........... how does a coach allow that to go on to the point of warranting ejections? Doesn't the coach have a responsibilty to control his players better than this?

Surkamp has to be pitched out. He needs to take his time signing, take the summer off and go play instructional league in the Fall. He's too good to have that happen to him today.
