Did any of you see the standing ovation that Chad Flack got today when he went to the plate for his last ab? It was awesome. Here is a guy that has had a tremendous college career. He carried UNC to the CWS at the Super Regional at Alabama. You can see the type of leader he is on the field and you know his leadership off the field is huge for this team. It was a special moment to see a player get that kind of respect from the fans today. Im sure he will get his chance to play at the next level. I hope he proves alot of people wrong. But his legacy at UNC is set in stone. He is a guy that did it the right way. And he did it very well. And he always did it with class.

Misjudged player or am I missing something

Yes it was very special for sure. It made me think about HOW HARD it is to be drafted. Why Chad did not get drafted is something I don't understand?

    If you can miss

on Dustin Ackley then I guess you can miss on Chad Flack. There are guys out of hs that would have been drafted this year just like in years past but they made it known before the draft they were going to college. But to me this is no brainer in Chad. But again he will get the chance as a free agent I am sure.

Here's the funny thing. Pro scouts love when a kid has a father that played ball. Dustin did, but still didn't get drafted. But this may turn out to be a cool story...Dustin Ackley, Addison Johnson and DJ Mitchell (all from the same HS team) will go on to the pros

THe biggest problem he had was a low batting average(.279) but more importantly being a senior. He has no levarage and it's a problem a lot of seniors face coming into the year. I hope he gets picked up and goes on to have an amazing Pro career but it's a hard situation having a down year and being a senior is something that scouts know they don't have to push to sign him. They don't draft him and save money by signing him by a FA and there is no money hardly involved and if he does good keep giving him more but if not then give him his papers and give him a handshake and see you later. It's cruel job but these people are just trying to win and get a paycheck and also not get fired.

Cream if the crop don't mean nothing. You would rather have a guy that played at UNC but hit .230 or a D2 player that hit over .400?

    Guys

please start your own thread - D1 vs D2 - call it whatever you want. This thread was started to congratulate a fine young man who is very talented and had a great career. How many players can say they went to the college world series three out of four years? Regardless of what he does in baseball after he ends his college career he will leave a great legacy behind. I hope he signs a FA contract and plays for a long time. But if he never plays again once the CWS is over he has so much to be proud of. And I am sure he will be very successful in life. Congrats to Chad Flack!
