    Also heard that the scouts were extremely impressed with Nathan Hyatt from Brevard, Region 8. 90+ fastball with a nasty hook. His recruiting stock will take off now.

    Cody Geyer, 2010 N. Buncombe grad, hits a 3-run HR in the bottom of the 6th
    to win it for Region 8 over Region 2. Region 8(WNC) is the only team that is 2-0, I think.

    Being from the Region 3 area I have not seen any news on how the team is doing. Anybody hear anything?

    Region 3 is 1-1. Beat Region 7 and lost to Region 1. They were my pick to win it. And still may.

    Region 8 won again today to go 3-0 in pool play and will face
    Region 3(2-1) in the championship game at 2pm at UNC-G.

    How do they pick coaches for state games?

    I apologize ahead of time if this has been asnwered before, I am fairly new to TBR....how do they pick the coaches for the state games? Did they win the previous year (like the MLB All-Star coaches) or some other way?

    Seems like they have some good ones...
