My Logan can pitch 40mph and hit her spots.I'm getting her ready for 10u and she is going to pitch 100 pitches a day 5 days a week she will turn 9 next month. She has the perfect attitude for the game. She practices with her older sisters 16u team and her middle sisters 10u team and her own 8u team.

Not what I said. I started the machine at about 35, but she wanted to see how fast she could hit it. After 45 she was missing more than she hit.

My point was that even young kids can be taught to hit a ball with fastpitch trajectory. Seeing coaches throwing slowpitch arcs at them frustrates the kids and at least this parent.

I did the same thing this morning because we are playing in a machine pitch tournament in two weeks. My daughter hit the ball consistantly and hard at 45 to 50 mph. When we put it on 55 she fouled most of them off but did make contact. Most of the teams we play arc the ball to the plate the kids will have a hard time in 10u adjusting when the 8u level should be the adjusting peroid. They have so much small ball practice to learn it will be hard to do that and hitting all in one hour and a half practice.

That should be a good tournament with a lot of talent on display. My DD will be there with her team. Not sure if I am going to be able to make it yet...
