I won't disagree with you on that but the Georgia teams think we have the advantage of practicing with our school teams every day and playing games during the week. I understand both ways of thinking. I know my daughter is at the top of her game at the end of school ball.
I also am not taking anything away from the Cards because they very well could've won that berth outright on the field. Hopefully nobody takes this the wrong way because I am not insulting NC softball teams. I would like to see the Carolina teams but heads with GA more often. We are on a SC team now and I hope we head that way. To be the best you have to beat the best. Right now that is the California teams with Arizona, Georgia and Texas not far behind. There are good teams in every state. These states just have bigger numbers of good teams.

    Ga Teams

If you look on a map Ga is the biggest state east of Mississippi, so there should be more girls to pick from than most east coast teams. But they are good. Look whose winning Gold Qualifiers, Ga teams. May upset a few here but after doing some research the Gold is starting to get watered down, since everyone seems to think that is route to take. Last yrs 16u teams are going straight to Gold. Top 25-30 teams in last yrs "A" nats, could very easily be Gold.

Cards lost to Georgia Impact in pool play 6-3, beat 94 East Cobb Bullets 9 or 10 to zip, beat Bayside Blues(MD) 5-2, beat Team TFS and beat Georgia Impact 3-2 in bracket play. Georgia Impact was supposedly the best team there.

    Question?

After reading the thread, it appears that the Cards-Black (NC team) went undefeated in bracket play and, due to weather, lost the only NC berth to a GA team in a tie-breaker? Why wouldn't the NC berth tie breaker scenarios default to the NC team since it is a NC qualifier?

Or, why wouldn't the two teams have to play the next day to figure out who is better on the field?

It just seems odd that a NC team would leave a NC qualifier undefeated and not have a berth.....am I missing something?

Dawgwood the 94 Vipers so far this years have proven to be the better team out of the teams that were there. GA Impact have one of the top two hitting teams in GA.
If they had the Vipers pitching they would be hard do handle. GA top three teams were playing in the Hall of Fame Tournament in Oklahoma City.

DDD as far as the qualifier is concerned it was a national berth tournament so it couldn't default to a NC team. If it were a NC qualifier only the highest finishing NC team would get the berth. GA wont let teams outside of their borders participate in GA qualifiers. Other states will let out of state teams participate but they won't get a berth if they win. Florida had a few like this last year. AL also locks theirs for instate teams only.

    Ga teams

TD4SC I could be wrong but the info. I posted came from an at length conversation I had with the four Vipers coaches on Saturday. He said that they will loose a couple position players because of age but they would be back as 14U next year. He continued to say that the Vipers, Extreme, Impact, Titans and older Cobb team could go any way it just depended on the weekend. He also said the Impact, Extreme, Titans and Cobb would be 16U next year if not before that. Now I will say the Cards were in the hunt but do to rain they may miss out. The Storm got there act together and had two of the Ga. older teams in very good ball games. The Dazzle and Triangle teams were playing each other in the only game that I saw of them so, I am not sure how they did vs Ga. teams. IMO as second year teams NC will be there just as the second year Ga. teams

breakwater I just talked with one of my friends with the Vipers (asst coach). They are 100 % 94 birthdays. There were 2 East Cobb teams there. Bullets Blue will move up and they are not as good as the young team. The 94 Bullets group went into Sunday undefeated in bracket play until loosing to the Vipers.

BTW the Viper coach was also impressed with the Cardinals pitcher. I am looking forward to seeing her play. The 94 Bullets coach also said some good things about the Storm.

    ok

Only repeating what I heard from one of the coaches mouth; but maybe I misunderstood. The older East Cobb team looked much better than the younger IMO I am not sure who either played to get to Sunday; but any way both were good. Did these teams come as they have played all year; maybe from someone who was there who might know them? Alot of talent there

I felt like maybe I was wrong and that is why I made the call. If he told me he picked a few up to finish the year and would've come back and said that. I have been wrong many times before. I am sure someone told you what you heard. There are almost as many coaches as players on that team. I know two of them well. I still look at all the Georgia results since that is where my daughter has always played most of her travel ball since age 9. I coached and my daughter played with East Cobb. Through November I had seen all of these teams play on a regular basis.
