    Blinded by the light

This is the very reason I became an umpire.

I heard this from Grant the other night at the Hi-Toms legion game. That is great news for D. Hope he keeps impressing. Braves should be happy with this offer.

Are you two referring to DeSean Anderson, CF from Ragsdale? I too heard that he was close to committing to South Carolina.

This thread has been interesting and has caused me to think about the recruiting experience. Collin and Pasttime have very different opinions/facts about what they think/believe/know ( :tiny::tiny::tiny: )is happening. They both have made some good points. I am sure that many of the TBR posters have gone through this process themselves or have guided their children through it. Just based on our experience with our son and a few others whom we are close to, each experience is so unique.

I was talking to one of my best friends yesterday. She reads this site (to make sure I’m behaving :58:), but never posts. Less than a week ago, no one had her son on their radar (an 09), but because of a pitching performance where a variety of scouts was gathered last week… at present he has four D1 offers on the table and tons of opportunity. She told me last night that once things settle down and some decisions are made she will either post their experience or let me do it. In her words, she feels like their family is in a “Disney” movie. Our recruiting process was more like a ‘Coming of Age’ Drama that lasted too long. Our families have had totally different experiences, but we have been able to help each other along the way. We both are grateful for our experiences and realize that neither of our ‘unique’ journeys is better or worse than the others….just different.

Has there ever been a thread dedicated to posters sharing their personal recruiting stories? If so, can it be brought back to the front page and allow us to read them and others add additional experiences? If there hasn’t been one, moderators, do you think it’s a topic worth discussing?
I just thought it may be beneficial to posters who will be entering this process down the road. It could provide a glimpse of the variety of ways that our kids were recruited and offer encouragement to those ‘in the midst of’ or who will be entering an often frustrating, but exciting time.

    "Read all about it"

This would be a great thread. Hope Braves has one in the archives?

    Thanks for asking

Thanks, sportsmom, for asking that question. I too would like to hear about previous recruiting experiences. My son has just gotten seriously involved in multiple options that he previously did not have because of a recent performance. I would like to know what questions players and their parents did not ask recruiters but now wish that they had, especially questions related to switching positions from the ones he is now playing.

Sportsmom, I think I know who you are talking about. Very nice young man. Very deserving. I heard he had a good week.

I bumped several from the archives. I didn't want to bring them all back or it would have taken over the 1st page.

It's always a good idea to start a new thread on recruiting. The differences by each family can be completely different.

I hope the archived threads will help someone. There was a lot of good information
