Absolutely no reason for UNC to score three runs off of the mediocre pitching they saw last night. But thats what makes baseball the greatest game on Earth. You can't just went with talent.

Not trying to make excuses for them but they sure seemed to hit quite a few balls very hard, right at someone.

Coach Fox said that UNC is not a good team when they are playing from behind. He knows his team and i happen to agree

UNC does not play small ball enough. Down 1 run in the 6th, leadoff double, why doesn't Williams bunt? I bet he knows how.

    You know

Win or lose this CWS I would much rather be the team everyone pulls against because they are jealous of your success. Maybe if they had some of their own they could spend their time pulling for their team instead.

That's not true for everyone. The tar heel community has a way about generating their own arrogance at times.

That said, being a State grad I'm actually pulling for the heels to win but there have been many days when I did not. It has nothing to do with them being in the ACC or being local. I've gotten to know 1 player very well and learned more about the program. I respect what Fox has done and wish him and his program well.

My oldest just attended their football camp this week. He went because he was encouraged to go buy his coaches and he was invited plus it fit his schedule and he was able to fit it in around his showcase ball. I encouraged him to be open minded about the school. Even though he grew up an ABC fan I encouraged him to put all that aside and enjoy teh school and the camp. He did and he left with a positive impression of the school.

However there are many coaches that feel some (not baseball) unc programs have severely under-achieved, specifically football. They have tons of money, great facilities, and unc is the most popular university in the state. Why can't they create in football what they have in baseball and basketball? Several other ACC coaches have told me they feel unc under-achieves in football. Sometimes people's feelings toward unc are not jealousy but simply being tired of the unjustified arrogance in some areas. Just the presumption that someone is jealous gets a little old.

Coach, I realize you son is going there and he hope he has a great 4 years. I would honestly be thrilled if my son went there. It's a great school.

I for one am pulling for the Tarheels. I am not a Tarheel fan but a Wolfpack fan. It is true there are a lot of arrogant UNC fans but I do not hold that against the players. There are a lot of boys from this state on that team (I don't know any of them personally) and I think this whole state should be pulling for them. GO HEELS!
