CALDWELL CO LEGION

I called the station today and was told plans are being made to get the games back on the air...so hopefully soon!

 

Wayne County lost its top pitcher to the Valley League, as NC State apparently decided that was better for him.

We lost two position players to showcase. One is the second baseman and the son of former Reds manager Jerry Narron. He disliked our coach telling his son not to switch hit. He also went to a showcase coach last fall and told him that the only way the son was going to be on the team was if he was guaranteed to start at short. The coach replied that he had other shortstops to play and that they were just as good or better, so Jerry went to someone who would do his bidding. Then the other player allegedly wanted to come back to the state runnerup but his mama has big dreams for her son and calls the shots. Our catcher was going but changed his mind.

Narron has plenty of money, so the costs of travel ball don't bother him. I don't know why they would want to do that and play on a team where winning and teamwork take second place to a situation where you play your time and get taken out so someone else can be in the spotlight.

But we've scored 21 runs in two games, so maybe we can survive.

 

Andy Partin addresses this in his interview. It was interesting reading his comments about parents and "big timers"

 

Games should be back on air starting tomorrow night.

Just pickin, yea we miss ole CarolinaMan, he needs to get back with us. Good to hear from all the other Caldwell folk tho.

 

You bunch of dogs...talking about a man behind his back...LOL...Hell I'm in Kansas...got run out of North Carolina...But I still pull for CALDWELL COUNTY POST 29...Has anybody heard how post 29 is doing in Nebraska.
