    I agree tarheelsoftball. That was a great game. Pretty evenly matched teams. Games like that are exciting to watch.

    The last 2 games in the 14u were awesome games also. The Alexander Cougars had to win both games against the Angels to win championship. Both teams played really well. Looked like all the girls were worn out when it was over. Great weekend of softball!!

    Music City Hits

    Three NC teams traveled to Nashville TN this past week for the Music City Hits tourney. The 16U NC Challengers, the 18U Sun Devils and Lady Lightning both competed in the gold pool. The Sun Devils finished pool play as the #2 seed going 3-2 and the Lightning finished at 3-2. The two NC teams were set up against each other in the first round of bracket play with the Lightning getting the extra inning win over the Sun Devils 5-3. It was a great game and a great tourney, a lot of colleges in attendence.

    Great time at Music City Hits

    Nashville was awesome! Over 17 different schools attended the NC SUNDEVILS games. Tara Hajer, Amanda McArthur, Taylor Morris, Jessica Fellmeth (all 2009s) had standout performances. Jasmine Conley played great defense in centerfield.

    Smokey Mountain Sting Win in Georgia

    Smokey Mountain Sting were champions in a one day 18U round robin at Emmanuel College in Georgia. Great competition in five back-to-back games winning against 18U Georgia Impulse 3-1 and Showstoppers 5-2. Our only loss was against the Georgia Rage 3-2. We tied with the 18U Team Worth Elite 3-3 (All 13 Team Worth players have already signed college scholarships!) The championship game was played by the two teams with the best records...Smokey Mountain Sting and Georgia Rage. The Sting beat the Rage 7-0 for the championship. The girls were exhausted but had a great day of softball. Total team effort.

    THAD .....IMO....and why?.....

    ......I know for a fact that there is only ONE ugly Jeff around, AND I know him! LOL.

    AND....BTW, it floors me everytime I see pics of awesome athletes dressed up as ladies. Its hard to believe that these nice prim and proper looking ladies are the same ones who will wipe a bloody nose on their sleeve and never look back. Thats cool!

    Magic and the Carolina Cobras

    I also saw the game between Magic and Carolina Cobras. Cobras were leading 2-0, Magic had the last at bat. Lead off slapper got on, then a walk, then a line drive to right field loaded up the bases with no outs. Then Sarah Mooney "Boomer" hit a triple to win the game. The Magic beat the Cobras twice that weekend. Both games were great to watch.
