Congrats to the Cabarrus County Mudslingers 16u competing in their first showcase/ASA 18u tournament this weekend. They were one of 8 teams remaining when the tourn was canceled. The Mudslingers had a great showing finishing with a 5-2 record, two one run loses with a 3-0 record in the bracket against some solid competition, great showing for a bunch of 16 year olds against some stout 18u teams. The teams remaining when the lightning came were Mudslingers up 3-2 on Sports Plus in the 5th with 8 mins left, Curve and Randolpj Rage were tied 5-5 in the 6th, The Diamond Fever was tied 4-4 in the 4th to the Knockouts, and The Cape Fear Storm vs Attitude was 2-1 in the 4th not sure who was winning that think they left early. Great tournament several colleges in attendence and some great softball this weekend.

    Game #1 Mudslingers 7 Richmond Eruption 1
    Game #2 Mudslingers 1 NC Challengers 2
    Game #3 Mudslingers 3 HP Heat 4
    Game #4 Mudslingers 9 TFS 16
    Game #5 Mudslingers 6 SC X-treme Lightning 4
    Game #6 Mudslingers 7 Wilson Diamonds 1
    Game #7 Mudslingers 3 Sports Plus 2

    thanks

Thanks for the update. We, Lady Titans 16U, got knocked out by the Randolph Rage 4-0 Saturday night. So, I have been waiting to hear something about how it ended. Any other scores?

we sure enjoyed this tournament and was quite impressed with the number of college coaches that were there with it being the same weekend as the Dynamite Classic. We hated the lightning came and ended it all, our girls wanted to finish it! One question, does anyone have the website of the person that was there taking pictures? I had a card but guess I lost it.

    TIA!

    Nice tournament

Good tournament considering the "iffy" weather.
Just a note about the Carolina Curve...
there is a petition to change the name to Carolina Virus because 1/2 the team had either a very severe stomach virus or food poisoning - actually had to have our center fielder pitch to finish the last 3 innings of the second bracket game (which the curve won). But they toughed it out and actually started getting better toward the afternoon on Sunday... there was no "quit" in those girls. Tournament was cancelled but they were ready to go.... Way to go Curve -

The Pride was a well run tournament and there were about 12 colleges committed to attending and I saw two additional colleges represented. Our team had a great time
    Thanks Coach Tucker.

I would like to know every ones opinion on two things this weekend,
what did you think about the balls being used? And what were your feelings on the situational games?

Absolutely hated the balls they used, they would not go anywhere! It was a well run tournament and our team enjoyed it!

    Game 4 was
    MudSlingers 9 TFS 16U 2

But the balls they used had way to much give to them which made them hard to even get out of the infield. But I really enjoyed the situational game it puts alot of pressure on you to perform which I think is a great thing to practice.

    Name of Softballs

The reason I am asking is: the balls at another tournament this weekend seemed to be a little soft even though they still would go out of the park. I did not see many go out. They just did not sound "right". The covers had a little give to them.
