Megastar Elite 2010 vs Orlando Scorpions

Tough loss for the Megastars 2010. Final score was 7-4.

Austin Magicotte took the loss and pitched the entire game.

Dakota Speiss broke out of his slump hitting a laser double to go 1/3.
Alex Baker went 1/3 with two rbi's.

Those were the Megastars only two hits.

    Play again at 5 today.

    Megastar Elite 2010 vs Colorado

In a game the Megastars had to win to qualify for the championship bracket, they brought Alex Baker back on three days rest (he won the first game Saturday).

The Megastars had a tough start - giving up 9 runs in the first two innings with only two balls hit out of the infield and with only two walks.

Baker then shut them out the rest of the game for the complete game win !

The bats finally came alive. In the second inning the Megastars broke out to get four runs back on five hits and a walk (Barrier, Magicotie, George, Alberts, Shelton). In the fifth, Dakota Spiess hit a rocket out of the park for a three run homerun scoring Smith (walk) and Shelton (single).

In the sixth, the Stars scored the game tying runs on a walk (Baker), a stolen base, and two hits (Ide, Barrier). With the bases clear and two outs in the sixth, Spiess hits his second homerun of the game to score what would prove to be the game winning run.

In the top of the seventh, Baker gives first base on a 3-2 count walk that the umpire started to ring up but didn't. A bunt to the pitcher gets the first out at first base with the runner advancing to second. A groundball to second gets the second out with the runner advancing to third. A ground ball well played by Spiess gets the third game ending out and the win for the Megastars.

What a game ! What a gutty pitching performance with clutch hitting finally coming through for the exciting come from behind win. They will sleep well tonight....two games in 90+ degree temperatures today.

If you love baseball, you would have loved this one.

Johnathon Shelton is playing with the Megastar Elite 2010.

We played with Cody for several years on a previous team - great kid.

    Great Job Panthers

Great job Panthers 10's and 11's (I won't call them "lil" like Dawgs.... cause I think a few of them might be big enuf to take me!!!) Dawgs, C Rob threw a gem last year also but I think he had help in extra innings.
Again great job Panther looking forward to seeing you take the big trophy this year.
