What about the 18 to 24 year olds that do not make the Draft?

    You have to adjust.

We bought two donkeys (Horses were too expensive).

We just saddle up the donkeys with our supplies (mostly water and sunflower seeds) and off we go.

It has saved us alot of money - but it takes forever to get to the games.

And - at this point - the donkeys are very very tired.

The problem I have with my donkeys is they go what ever direction they choose. So I may end up at the wrong tournament. The good news is....the right tournament will eventually be there.

    IMO

Throw away the promise of cheaper days. Not going to happen. They got away with it. Rememebr the President can do a lot as long as congress is behind them. Here is the future:
    1. Cost of entry will go up. Simple Ad's and elected school lack simple thought processes. They will raise prices thinking that will cover it. Less fans will attend.

    2. JV teams will not travel as much. They will say it does not matter. Notrhing to make money on.

    3. Cuts!! This will hurt. We will see programs lose JV teams. Number of away games. Even coaches will pay a great price. No paid help.

    4. Cuts in sports. All will pay the price.

Bottom line. No warm and fuzzies. HS sports will face challenges never faced before. Travel will see reduction in teams, fans and even they will suffer the fuel demon curse. Showcase will also see less fans. You will see events. but, teams will become more sponsor driven. Then, that will lead to other problems. result will be less of them. Dad ball will have to have a deep pocket. LL will make it if they use their heads. Low cost and history. They have been there and done that. Ready, Aim ....... Fire.

People will still do what they love to do

they will just cut back on things they can cut back on. Maybe less time at the lake on that jet ski. Maybe Mc Donalds instead of the Outback. But people that have kids that love to play will find a way to get him to the ball park to play. As far as HS goes there are alot of things that can be done to reduce cost. JV Varsity DH's where both teams ride the bus together to the games. Parents stepping up to help raise more funds to help out. Etc etc. When it comes to peoples kids they are going to do what they have to do. Will people be smarter with their money? I am sure they will. Will people find ways to cut out stuff or cut back in order to still do the things they love to do? Yep. They always will.

I suspect that you are right. This topic was covered just a couple of weeks ago. That's why I'm being a little facetious.

Makes me wonder if it will force the state to review how conferences are alligned. Might make even less sense in the future to send teams an hour away to play, when they have several other schools within a few miles.
