    one thing i know for sure, you're not going to be considered for anything unless your coach submits your name. i look in our conference and can see that, ashbrook, north gaston and hunter huss all submitted names, none of the other teams did, and some great players were left off the all state list due to this. push you head coach or asst coach to submit names next year so all can be considered for this priviledge.

    just the facts people......

    I say this every year!! Coaches, please, your teams work hard for YOU, don't you think you can do a little work and work hard for THEM!! In order to even be considered, coaches must put in their players for this. Congratulations to ALL these girls who made all state!

    I know for a fact we had girls in our conference that didn't make All Conference and don't think they made all District and were selected to ALL STATE, now my point is this, I thought ALL STATE is just that, NO WAY STATS COULD come into this because some of the ALL STATE players in our conference batted their weight.........I would also like to know the process and WHO is on the selection committee, it just seems to me that they are WATERING down the term ALL STATE..........

    Yes congratulations to All who made it, BUT Sorry for All the girls that truly deserved it through stats, and what ever other reasonable reason they should of made it, and didn't!!!!!!!!!!!
    Guess the girls that didn't make it and deserved too are just learning a life lesson in POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Selection Process?

    Is there a selection process, or is everyone who is nominated put on the 1st team or Hon Mention? All State should be a chosen HONOR to be on there and should be taken from those players who made All District. How can players who weren't chosen for All District be added to an All State roster? I am sure there are many deserving players on this list, but being chosen for All State should be the highest honor of all. Putting this many on the list brings question as to what guidelines, if any, are used.

    There are only 9 players on a softball team. Even if you chose a 1st team, 2nd team and Hon mention, that would be 27 players...put it to 30 if you want to pick an extra pitcher, catcher or a DH. There is no consistancy in the number chosen from each division either.

    1A - 44 players chosen and 14 given Hon Mention
    2A - 64 players chosen and 17 given Hon Mention
    3A - 59 players chosen and 22 given Hon Mention
    4A - 80 players chosen and 27 given Hon Mention

    In my opinion, this selection process needs to be improved upon.
