    Mr Central-D

If you had your fanny there from 7am - 9pm Sat. & Sun you may have felt a little different. We were there. IMO the 2 best teams were left standing, coaches made their decision, with the best interest of the girls in mind. Blues have a big week coming up. Really know one should have to explain a thing. If your team was in finals you could make your own decision. The Cobras were ready, the Blues were trying to avoid any possible injuries. If my DD was playing for Blues, I would have supported Abbey's decision fully. The Cobras have played all teams in top 4 in last 2 weeks, & the order they finished are how strong they are. Blues played Cobras 1st game 8:00 am, the only 2 teams in winners bracket that played that early, & Cobras won 3-2 in a very tight game. Cobras are best in state, 26-1 record against some very tough competition, finished 2nd in Dynamites, could very well have won it, if they were given chance. They gave up less runs than Spartan team, in bracket play.
Congrats Cobras !!, & Congrats Blues on your berth to Moline !!!!

Ditto! the only possible reason for anyone to have any angst over what happened is the misperception that it costs someone a berth.. which of course is absurd but the absurd seems to rear its ugly head every now and again. If your team had made it to the championship game as the LB's did then you would have had the berth win/loose or decline.

Once you reach this level its about playing in college not about winning any one tournament even a state championship... at least to the point of being seen notwithstanding. At a camp this past week a D1 coach made the following statement among others concerning the recruitment process: "I dont care what the score is". Anything else you need to know?

These girls had to get up and fly on Monday all day to get to Colorado for the Boulder tournament ... perhaps the biggest showcase many of them will play in this year. Without a doubt a locale where they will be seen by coaches that otherwise may not have the opportunity to see them.

I am amazed by the number of people who don't get it in this and other aspects of the JOURNEY.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm

While I cannot speak for the Lady Blues, I can answer for the Attitude-Plemmons re: the 16u Championship games. I am not part of the team, but I am a fan of a player on the team and was on the phone throughout the longggggggg evening with Mom after I departed the game site.

While Lightning may have caused a 30 minute delay, although I spoke to my friend much longer than that during the delay, there was far more than just that delay to take into account.

The Championship game, scheduled to take place at 6:30 pm, with the if necessary at 8:15, was not even able to start until around 8:00 pm. If the Attitude made it through that game, and as scrappy as they are they may well have, then the if necessary game wouldn't even begin until nearly 10pm, wrapping up close to midnight.

The Attitude had been on the field since 7am. Carrying only two pitchers (third out due to injury) who were both not only tired but a little bit battered by balls driven into them, these young ladies battled through I believe 6 games prior to the championship round even starting. The coach WISELY decided to concede the championship round as the team was exhausted and he did not want to risk a player being injured due to being so worn down.

Congrats Attitude for a hard battle!....and for knowing when to stop before a serious injury could have stopped a young lady for a long time to come!

    Cobras are the best

I agree with you completely! I watch them any chance we get. Family got to see them first hand at the Nationals last year in Texas... didn't they finish 9th in ASA USA?
My whole family are big fans!!

We are also big fans of the Blues! I am so happy for them both! Rodney is a first class guy.

Congrats !!!!:cheer::cheer::cheer: and Good Luck to all COBRAS & THE LADY BLUES !

Can someone post the roster of the two teams? I am really interested in the players; where they went to school and any commitments that have been made. If you prefer to post it in a new thread...fine. But either way, I would like to know.

cobras just have so many weapons combined with great pitching, watching them, you wonder how they might possibly have lost any games period.

lady blues are just starting to meld together, fast, focused, will be a power house in the future.

cardinals are a solid team, as always.

one thing that they all have in common is great coaching, it just stands out whether its defense or offense, all are great to watch on the field.

I was watching a game between L. Blues vs Triangle Lightining Sunday when a hard hit line drive was hit by Constance Orr to 1st base. I was wondering if that young lady is ok? They packed her glove hand in ice and left the park. She appeared to be in a lot of pain. Anyone know how she is?

    Parkland would know more but......

She seems to only have a severe bruise on her hand. She's a very tough kid, and we've been told she has a chance to be back on the field in a couple of weeks.
