there were several kids that were selected over others that didn't have better stats, weren't better players, weren't better hitters and better fielders, if you call that bashing then i guess that's what it is.................If you followed softball you can look at the list yourself and see it............I'm glad for everyone on the list, but don't think it isn't quiet right for the ones that truly desrve it to be left off
I made my point and I'm through with it now, we can move on..

Just stating the facts, several players that had ALOT better stats, were better hitters, fielders, all around players were overlooked, and some players that had poor stat were chosen, that's what i'm talking about, if that's bashing then call it what u want. these players were nominated and should of been chosen. I know some of the players in our district and conference and something is just not right with it...........
I have had my say and i'm finished, thanks for letting me vent....

Be sure to include strength of schedule into your stats...have to be some means to rate the level of coaching so the player who does it on their own is recognized just as the ones with the highly qualified instructors....must be some way to pro rate so the comparision for selection is equitable....You know everything in our world is always fair and equal.

    LOL LOL LOL

The reality is it ain't never gonna be a perfect system for anything. Regardless of how good the intentions are and how much effort goes into it.....somebody somewhere is going to whine and complain cause it don't fit there agenda. jmho

All State , Conference, District, County, etc. is all decided by "judges". Stats, schedule, day or night games, travel distances, and such are not considered in the choosing process even though it affects an individuals performance.

Some of us chose softball over other sports (ballet, gymnastics, synchronized swimming) because there is always a final score to determine the winner. Not some judge that was misinformed, brown nosed, or receiving kickbacks to choose the winner with less talent. I personally despise contests that are judged by one or a committee. I enjoy head to head or team to team competition where the winner outscores the loser.

Politics affect all we do but hopefully my teams ability can beat your team's politics over a 7 inning game.

Stats are only as good as the stat keeper. I have seen stat keepers give hits, stolen bases, etc. when they are not. I have also seen high school coaches that don't know the difference between a hit and a fielders choice. I also agree with whoever mentioned stength of schedule. We had a team in our area beat another team I think 51-0! Now that game pushed some stats way up there. Games like that can put someone's stats above others who are more deserving that play tougher teams. You can take that same kid who had an unbelievable batting average and put her up against decent teams and she is no longer a hero. If you have a .400 batting average in the MAC conference here, that is pretty darn good. Then you have a kid in a weaker conference that has an over .700 batting average?!! What the heck! Does that make her a better player than the girl with a .400 batting average? I don't think so. Keep in mind that in some of these schools you have dads/moms that are doing the stat keeping and in some instances the coaching. Now I'm not saying that dads/moms would fudge to see their kid's name in lights, but it is a point to ponder. I mean if you have dads and coaches fist fighting over a ballgame like I read in another post you must consider that is is a possibility that some stat padding is going on. JMHO. Since the powers that be only have stats to go by and can't possibly see all these girls play what do you do...I don't know the answer to that one.
