High School Softball Scores, Ratings, & Rankings

Probably most of you know of this website, but I didn't until today. It's very informative, gives all the stats for whatever team you want in any state in the country. Click on the school and it gives the full season run down, teams played and scores.

Scores

Be watchful when checking the scores and stats. Our school finished conference with 6-6 record and they have 1-16. We did not do well but not quite that bad.

 

Back to coaches

If the coaches don't turn in the stats or scores, none of the sites will be right.

Is there anything NCHSAA can do to force/mandate the coaches to submit scores and stats as part of their job? Most are getting paid for it right so wouldn't be a stretch to make it a mandatory part of the job.

The coaches in Mecklenburg schools are paid but if you divide that by the time they put in not only with practices and games but field prep. maintenance. meetings and off season skills development, parent player and coaches meetings and conditioning, checking grades checking eligibility, making out lineups, buying weed killer, fire ant killer, and gas for the mowers gators and sand flee. and so on It comes out to maybe 0.55 cents an hour. Oh and then there is the mandatory trip to G-boro. and the gas is on guess who. to be honest It costs most coaches when it is all added up.
Oh and the HS coaches association is NOT part of the NCHAA and a coach pays $40.00 to be a part of that org. And they are doing a pretty damn good job with the Polls, All-state, scholarships and are starting to get a voice with the State.
So please don't get that hung up on the ALL-Whatever selections because to be honest in a month from now most will not remember them anyway. And I think college coaches want to see what a kid does on the field not on paper.

 

Yea I went there and saw a playoff game one of local high schools won and they had them posted losing it 6 to 4. Don't think it is real accurate

Understand what you are saying (I volunteer at a middle school and use my own money for many of the same things) but didn't think I was hung up on anything especially the ALL-Whatever selections. I didn't say anything about that and didn't voice an opinion one way or another on that thread. I did congratulate the girls that I know who were selected and I am quite sure the girls that were selected will remember it for the rest of their lives.

I was just commenting on the previous comments which has also been in other threads stating that the stats and records are wrong on most of the sites. The general consensous of these types of threads are that the coaches are not reporting the stats/scores so was just asking if there was a way to address it. Guess there isn't...

 

Well I never knew about the site until stumbling onto it yesterday, and I knew just the right place to give it the "smell test"....TBR! Figured someone here would already know about it and report it as bogus or wonderful...lol. All I looked up was my daughers school and it was all correct, but knew that wasn't enough to determine it's overall validity.

 

no offense to who provided this link but its fairly worhtless IMO. Most schools have enough trouble getting the coaches to call the local paper with scores and we will not get into the individual player nominations quagmire.

Asking coaches to go on here and post scores is ... well not likely.

 

No offense taken, like I stated, I knew this was a good place to find out it's worth. And I'm positive I didn't ask any coach to do anything more than they already do!
