    Pitt Co. 160.......... 7
    Wilson.................. 6

    Wilson ends the regular season the same way it ended the postseason last year, with a loss to Pitt 160. Three-game losing streak to enter the playoffs at 16-6. Because of home-field scheduling conflicts with the Wilson Tobs, the opener Thursday may be on the road.

    Durham Post 7 wraps up the regular season with a win over Roxboro 21-2. Durham will play Benson Post 109 in the first round of the playoffs starting at Durham (Riverside) on Thursday at 7pm.

    Durham finishes the regular season 13-8 after starting 2-5. The guys have really come together and are playing as a team at the right time.

    Congrats on a strong finish G. The guys seemed to really turn it around.

    Good luck in the playoffs hopefully we see you guys in a couple of weeks.

    Thanks, thevoice. Looking forward to facing my old bros once again. I don't think it would be Legion ball in July if Durham wasn't playing Garner at some point!

    In his most crucial test as an American Legion pitcher, Michael Douglas passed with flying colors.

    The Wayne County right-hander, who didn't get out of the third inning in his previous start, pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings as Post 11 blanked Kinston 8-0 Sunday night to claim the top spot from the Area I East South and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs beginning Thursday. Wayne will face either Edgecombe County or Tarboro in a best-of-three.

    Wayne (14-4) tied for first with Kinston and Pitt County 39 at 5-3 but gets the No. 1 position because of the best record within the group. Kinston, which took the second position, will face Edenton, the North No. 3 while Pitt takes on Wilson.

    JM15, I believe that Garner and Cary will start Thursday night at Cary. I'm not 100 % sure yet, I haven't heard the final word from Ross or Chris. I'll post when I get more info.
