    Best of Luck Post 66

Be careful traveling tomorrow and with the game tomorrow night. I will be stuck in Mooresville, but will certainly listen to the game on the WHIP as I relax on the front porch. Hopefully we can hang around until the weekend so I can catch a game or two.

    Go get them boys!

The Rowan team left today at 3:30. Looks like lots of rain in the Kinston area tonight. Let's hope it goes away for a few days.

Hope to see some of you at the game. My son is #5 on the Rowan team and plays right field, #2 in the lineup.

Are most of the Jr. Legion teams formed from several schools? Rocky Mount and Northern Nash have always limited their teams to kids from their high school only. I know this year that Oxford was nearly all Webb kids except for 2 or 3.

When we played Cherryville, they told me they were 4 or 5 schools. I think Burns, West Lincoln, Bessemer City, and Cherryville for sure, but I thought it was 1 more.

    Junior Teams

In 2005 South Caldwell was the first junior legion team formed from one high school, 100%. When I talked with Rocky Bennett, I told him I thought it would be a great extension of our J.V. program, and I could see other schools following suit. I predicted that with that in mind the "Junior Division" could someday pass the "Senior Division" as far as # of teams in NC.

I'm not sure of the total number of teams right now, but I have seen other schools embrace the idea of fielding their own "Junior Legion" team.

Mooresville is rained out tonight. Will play tomorrow not sure of time yet. Good luck to Coach Meadows and his team, I am sure they will represent Mooresville well.
