First two rules I would implement:

    - "Mercy Rule": I would have mercy on any player in a dead zone. I, singularly, will make the decision on where he can play. It won't be based on any rules: it's where I decide it would be best.

    - Protesting a transfer: You have until June 15 to lodge a complaint. After that date---tough toodles. And if I find out that a legion team waited intentionally to file a complaint, I would reduce their wins by an equal amount of affected team.

I am "The Dictator". My decisions won't be met by whining or complaining. Everybody gets an opportunity to tryout....and I would keep the 19 yo's. The returning college freshmen are great sources and example setters for the younger guys. In fact, if we had more of them, college coaches wouldn't be so relunctant in their players participating.

With a few moderate changes, American Legion can become a huge entity in summer ball across the state. Not only in the obvious successful towns, but in areas not known for AL. It can offer opportunities that you can not find in any other summer programs. For those that have not witnessed a game involving Cherryville, Shelby, Caldwell, Rowan, Kannapolis, etc....check it out and you know what I mean. The players in those areas are hometown heroes. For most, it will be the only time in their life they can strut their chest walking around town acknowledging their town's embrace. They may never have that opportunity again.

You'd get 2 votes, one from me and one from Dbacks.

But your right, you'd probably struggle with all the liberals when you start that dictatorship talk... :clapclap:

No..no tj. You misunderstand. It's not really a dicatorship if you are never wrong. If you are never wrong....why have questions

Now go forth, my young grasshopper, and start spreading the seed of wisdom

Perhaps another problem of American Legion baseball is the American Legion memeber themselves. American Legion baseball was very big during the sixties and seventies when the members of the American Legion were primarily World War II and Korean War veterans and the membership was busting at the seams. Now with the WW II and Korean vets dying off and a lack of interest from Vietnam and Desert Storm vets the American Legion membership itself are dwindling in numbers and lack the finances it once had.
