My apologies in advance to our umps on this thread , but from my old bench jockeying days :

"Hey blue, if it was a buffet I bet you wouldn't have missed it."

note: you can easily insert whopper with cheese or twinkie with buffet.

    Bow your neck....

i think it means ... whne you get in a tough situation to bow your neck get tough and get through it... as when you are having to pull or lift something hard you bow your neck to get into it ... something like that when a horse was pulling a plow he had to bow his neck when it was heavy.....

the best one i have heard is when a coach (who is now a local principal) was thrown out of the game and tried to hide in the dugout.. the ump told him he had to go where the ump couldn't see him. the coach went and stood on home plate, and responded, well you haven't seen this all night, so i should be safe here.

    How about....

"My son is getting looks from UNC, UVA, NC State, Wake, etc."
"My son should be playing shortstop"
    "Move the infield in coach"
"You are leaving him (the pitcher) in there too long"

Unfortunately, I believe I have muttered both of these far too many times!

    Famous dugout quote

Being with a woman all night never hurt no professional baseball player. It's staying up all night looking for a woman that does him in. ~Casey Stengel

    Heard around.....

I always hated this one! Do you reckon that coaches think that kid's just wake up in the morning and say to themselves, " To heck with my coach, today I am not going to throw a single strike"

Another one that is heard often when I am at the ballpark! "Where are we eating dinner when this is over?"

    "Hit it hard somewhere!"
Nope, I think this time I am going to hit it soft, this bat only has so many hard hits in it and I don't feel like wasting one here.
