LL Senior Division Softball championship on TV

thats odd, wonder why. for the 11-12;'s most likely the announcer will be Michelle Smith. At least she has the last handful of years. She a real nice lady and talks to all the kids. However, last year they almost got Cat O to come out, and they kinda lost interest in Michelle, lol. she found the humor in it though, realizing, "in with the newest". She usually did a pitching demo as well. very cool to watch.

 

If Carley Hoover is on her game will be fun to watch the South team. So I don't get killed about Radar speeds I hope they have a gun set up for the game. Everyone will know this kids name in softball one day if she doesn't go volleyball first.
She is #21 and about 5-11.

as far as radar, they have always set up radar behind the backstop. but having my own gun and doing this, and after a handful of years doing it, I do not believe the stats they quote are correct. I dont want to down the system here, as like I stated, LL has a presence and a usefullness, but sometimes, the hype, as with anything, can be over exaggerated. I found the quoted pitching speeds to be that. which included my own kid on the mound in 2005. easily reading 6-8mph faster than I know she was throwing. And they had the SW pitcher clocke in the mid 60's. yeah, she was fast for sure, but no way in the mid 60's. so,,take what you hear with a grain o salt.

 

ESPN2 had a radar going on the first semi-final. The fastest pitch I saw was 56. It will be interesting to see what it gets Carley at (assuming Carley pitches this game; maybe they'll save her for tomorrow?).

 

I know what this one throws and if they inflate her speeds I will know it. She has sent a text to my daughter and they are going to try and save her for the championship game.
