College Club Team vs Showcase Team Tournament

I remember a thread about this a while back, but what group is organizing the "College Club Team vs. Showcase Team" tournament on 10/4-10/5 at the USA Baseball Complex? Is there a final list of teams published yet? And finally, is this something the college scouts will attend?

 

A new and different event

I am hosting this event in conjunction with Matt Tunnell of the NCST club team. I have played against Matt and other club teams in the past with my Stretchlon Stars team. He is inviting the 6 best club teams on the circuit and I am inviting the best showcase teams that are available that weekend. It should be a lot of fun for the kids. All college coaches will be invited to attend. The championship game is scheduled to be played on the Stadium field (unless the Tarheels are using it). The Moosic Mets from Pennsylvania will be one of the out of town showcase teams. The Anglers, Megastars, Panthers, South Canes and the Raleigh North/South teams have verbally committed to play. (The Dirtbags and North Canes are at Virginia Tech that weekend)

 

Stretchy, what's the official name of the tournament so my son can inform some of the coaches of the colleges he's interested in. Thanks. Should be a fun tournament.

 

Anyone have any cool names?

Stretchlon Showcase Supreme: Battle of the Stars, is the project code name for now as we are hoping to have a major sponsor take the naming rights.

How 'bout "Stretchy's Folly", or "Umpire's Ultimate". Stretch, will you be calling that weekend so as not to disrupt your path of calling 300 games per year, or will you simply be walking around, "analyzing" the guys in blue while pretending to be interested in the tourney?

Here are the college club teams playing

Red Bracket: NC State and UVA

White Bracket: Wake Forest and Va Tech

Blue Bracket: UNC and Maryland

Green Bracket: James Madison and Georgia

Waiting list: Clemson

There will be two showcase teams added to the above brackets for pool play. The pool winners will advance to semi's with the others playing consolation games.

 

Who are they. Or will they be a blend of all the top guys?
