in an ideal world you should be able to test drive as many teams as you want through try outs in a reasonable amount of time. HOWEVER, I believe that if they know you are going to multiple tryouts many will take offense to that... thereby hurting your chances.

We started off with 5 teams and ended up with 4, it was a great time at least I feel like it was. Eeryone got along well and all the teams were very competive at the end. What also made the teams good was, several TB girls were on these teams as well, so the new girls had a chance to see how these girls performed. Most likely the reason I am here now :) ,I believe it helped them play better as well. We are now trying to get a fall team together with hopes of playing a few more games before it gets to cold.

    I agree.

This has been my daughters first year playing still only about 5 months under her, she has progressed very well, as I have been told by several coaches that have seen her play. So I am hoping this is her calling and God given talent. Not her 1st sport played but the only one she has shown massive improvement and constant intrest in.

There's a team down here that appearently doesn't like tryout shopping. This is their stated policy:

They ask for $150 up front, i.e. before trying out. If you aren't asked to play, the money is returned. If you are asked to play, the money will be applied to your team fee. If you choose not to play for that team, you won't be given an refund.

I'm not sure if they stick with this policy or not, but that's what's on their paperwork.

Take loads of pics and video so you can look back on these times in the future. Like it talks about in that other thread It is a happy and sad day all at the same time! The day they go off to college for the first time! So many memories and so much fun along the way! Wouldn't have changed a thing (well maybe a few little things) LOL!

Seems a bit harsh if you ask me, I mean to me tryouts are for the player and team. I feel like one needs to get a good feel of how things are done before a commitment is made.

Yes, I have seen a girl or two on some teams not use them but for the most part all ours wear them. I have seen it save a few this year from the ER too so I see it as money well spent.:trophy:

Thanks I look to improve on the photos in the 08/09 season, I lack a little fast lens to stop the ball completely in motion but for the most part, the parents seem to enjoy them. I can recall anyone taking photos this year other than me in county ball.

Stay close to home and dont pay much to play on a team. Invest in clinics and camps. Trying out for more than one team can help you see all the different aspects of coaching.Trust me they are all different and have different objectives figure out which one fits you and your dd the best.Stick with your decission and when you do chose dont jump teams looking for a team to be a star on because as she gets older there are all kinds of stars on every team. Find one she can be a resourceful teamate on and she will grow to become a team player and thats what coaches look for when it really matters.
